About
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 drops up to four players into the boots of Colonial Marines deployed to the most hostile corners of the Aliens universe. This is not a rescue mission – it’s a fight for survival. Xenomorphs stalk the corridors, ambush from the shadows, and swarm in overwhelming numbers. Every room could be your last. Coordinate with your fireteam, leverage each class’s unique abilities, and adapt on the fly as encounters escalate from tense standoffs to all-out war. With deeper squad mechanics, smarter enemies, and a fully customizable Specialist class, AFE2 delivers the definitive co-op Aliens experience.

Join our Discord server, Marine.
Expanding from three to four players, AFE2 introduces deeper team-based mechanics that reward coordination and strategic class composition. New and improved classes each bring distinct playstyles and tactical abilities to the fight, making every squad combination feel different.
The iconic xenomorphs are more ferocious than ever before. AFE2's massive variety of new xenomorphs will force players to stay mobile, maintain situational awareness, and use every tool at their disposal. From stun batons for up close melee action in those most desperate moments, to pyro and electric ammo to whittle down the unrelenting xenomorph front before they overrun you and your squad, the battle can shift from calculated tension to desperate last stand in seconds.
Beyond expanded weapon and gear customization, AFE2 introduces the Specialist – a fully customizable class that lets players mix and match major and minor abilities from every available class. Build a loadout tailored to your exact playstyle and fill whatever role your squad needs.
AFE2 launches with multiple dedicated Horde maps that push squads to their limits. Battle through escalating waves of xenomorphs and other deadly enemies, earning increasingly valuable rewards as you survive deeper into the onslaught. This is where teamwork and skill are tested at their absolute peak.

Its a great game, if you liked the previous one you'll like this one. They've expanded on the weapon and class system significantly for replayability. The only downside so far is the story. There's definitely a story there....but most if it seems to have cringe dialogue. You can skip over most of the dialogue by spamming W on the bridge, however there are mandatory cutscenes in some levels that I'd prefer to skip and some of the doors or stuck in place until some voiceover on the radio ends, which I assume is their way of trying to force the story on you again but it just sucks. At present there are some bugs, but no CTD or game breaking ones. Hopefully they will be ironed out as most do pretty soon. I would recommend if you liked the previous one or are a fan of the franchise. Otherwise, wait for a sale as it's priced too high for someone who may have doubts.

I've loved the Alien franchise since I was young enough to have nightmares about it, and I adored the first Fireteam Elite. So when Fireteam Elite 2 dropped, I did what any reasonable fan does: left work early, paid full price, and cleared my weekend to feel things. I felt one thing: déjà vu. This isn't a sequel, it's the first game wearing a fake mustache and hoping you won't notice. Same guns, same bugs (the software kind, sadly not the good kind — those are at least consistent), same everything, except now it costs $60 and has a "2" bolted on like a Splinter Cell case with a hastily printed sticker. It feels like overpriced DLC. The story somehow manages to make a xenomorph invasion stale, which should be a war crime. And then there's Raptor. He doesn't talk constantly, but when he does, brace yourself — the man has never met a moment he couldn't ruin with a dad joke. Call out that you've reached the medical ward on comms and Raptor chimes in that everyone ends up there after hearing his jokes. That's the bit. That's the whole bit, delivered like he wrote it himself and nobody had the heart to tell him. Somewhere around that line I found myself actively hoping a facehugger would just take me instead — not out of fear, but because unconsciousness sounded like a real upgrade over the next punchline. I've had more emotional connection with the motion tracker beeping. Short on a fourth human? Meet Alpha, Beta, and Gamma, your bot teammates, named like they were assembled by a spreadsheet. Their combat AI is so lost I'd trust the dinosaurs from Trespasser — a 1997 game infamous for physics so broken its raptors could barely walk — to hold the line better. At least those raptors occasionally stumbled toward you with intent. Mine just stood in acid. And the bugs. My squadmate got stuck in a wall for a full cutscene, which honestly gave a better performance than Raptor's writers. To be fair, it's not all acid blood and disappointment. Four-player squads now instead of three, so there's an extra body (human or Greek-lettered bot) to feed the queen while you run. And speaking of her — you actually get to throw down with the Queen herself, which is nice. Verdict: Wait until moste bugs have been solved and when it is on discount.
Do I like the game...yes, visually the game looks good, aside of the characters.... Do I like the gameplay...also yes, alot of customization on how you want to play Do I like the story...no and that goes with the characters you meet Aliens FTE2 takes a step forward but stumbles on doing so. The story is generic and boring being Evil Corp up to no good again. The characters are reddit level cringe lords with their dialogue and how they act, not to mention how awful the lip sync is in this, feels like a skin walker is using their skin to talk with how wide and open their mouths are. Everyone is just eerie to look at.... Now with that being said, the combat and customization are great leaps forward, It was good in the last game so its good to see they improved it. Level design is on point for the franchise and i still get the sinking feeling when walking into an area and see drips coming from the ceiling. I saw some people review that its has bad graphics too, but i fail to see any faults at least with what I'm running, game looks great and haven't ran into much bugs(pun intended) nothing game breaking at least. Would i recommend? eh? Well if you like to go shoot up some bugs with a bunch of friends then yes, its a must. If you are wanting to buy solo, just wait for a sale. *WARNING I know this will trigger a part of the community but i don't care, free speech is free speech.* *Now this is just a side tangent does not effect how i play the game just something i saw within the first few hours... i know the alien franchise has girl marines and plenty of em as badasses but why staff like only 2 males and having 6 girls running most of the show? I can see western modernism has hit the game and I'm sad for it and wouldn't be surprised if Sweet Baby had their hands on this.*
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 is a massive mixed bag, but it goes from a frustrating 2/10 to an absolute 8/10 with one simple fix: turning the dialogue volume completely off At first, I absolutely hated this game. The character voices and constant, grating dialogue completely ruined the atmosphere and drove me crazy. It felt unplayable. Out of pure desperation, I went into the audio settings and muted the character voices. The improvement was instant and massive. Without the terrible voice acting in my ear, the actual gameplay loop shines. The gunplay is tight, the atmosphere finally feels like a tense Aliens experience, and the cooperative pacing feels incredibly rewarding. If you are struggling to enjoy this game, do yourself a favor and hit mute. It changes the entire experience for the better.
Fun game. If only it was playable. Can't pick up items means you cant heal unless there is a medic on team. Can't progress in levels or gear because game crashes so often and doesn't count progress. Complete mission, but crash at the end? Guess your time was wasted. Try to play with your friends? Game glitches out and kicks everyone back to solo instance in the middle of the fight. Took 4 times beating the Queen for the game to count my progress. Dialog is garbage they should have just focused on gameplay. It has potential. I'll change my review when they fix their game.
Hey, hot shot. I like your game, hot shot. But I do think there's some problem with it, hot shot. Notably, hot shot, the fact that you see, hot shot, there's no way to skip the cut scenes you've made, hot shot. These cutscenes not only at about 20fps, but also just add annoyance after you've done the same mission 10 times. So, hot shot, I'd definitely add that. Apart from that, hot shot. Can we stop getting called 'hot shot' every 2 seconds? Otherwise good game so far. Thanks, Hot shot.
This game should have been a DLC for AFTE 1, not a seperate game with a 80$ price tag.
its bad in every way other than visually. 1. locking certain basic things like cosmetics or challenge cards behind game progression feels like a lazy way to forcibly pad out hours played. 2. enemies jittering or even outright teleporting is a constant issue, especially during the second-half of the campaign. 3. the audio is dog water to be frank. the aliens sound like theyre halfway across the room from you even if theyre up in your face, voicelines can and will repeat with an echo, the guns are only passable. 4. the dialogue is terrible. if they were intending to make an obnoxious 'so quirky lol' character then they did raptor well. ko has the personality of easily forgettable cardboard even for someone supposed to be the hardass type. shipp. piper i feel as though could have had better development other than 'i spoke once on the comms now im learning :)' esther and wrench i like simply because they feel more natural compared to the rest. 5. i struggled to pay attention to the storyline on account of the fact that it was so bland and samey. the prologue had me hooked, i was excited. the 2.x missions managed to keep that excitement building up until 3.1 even if there were fair leaps of escalation. the more you start to learn about the big evil doctor, however, and the further you progress into that arc the worse it gets until it becomes nothing more than a 'big scary scientist is doing EVIL and playing GOD.' 6. the ai clearly has a few screws loose as very frequently from what ive played, they would do things such as conga lining or get themselves stuck on nothing in an open space (an issue especially prevalent with the droid enemies). the only ai that seems to work decently well and kind of erratically are the synths, which is bad, because youd also expect that the xenomorph enemies would be able to do more than walk in singular straight lines at you. 7. semi infrequently (in my experience) the interaction key would either take one-two seconds delay or outright stop working. really just a nuisance compared to everything else. 8. the difference between the pre-rendered cutscenes, in-game cutscenes and the actual gameplay itself is utterly jarring to such a degree that it can pull you out of the immersion; going from wonderful to look at immediately into grainy 80s footage. this game is ultimately just fireteam elite 1 with prettier graphics and DOZENS of issues which one wouldve hoped wouldnt have been stuffed into a game that costs a whole 50 dollars. i love that they made challenge cards infinite, added new weapons and systems for said weapons, and abilities. but when i can count how many new things theyve added to 2 on both of my hands while the issues that persist infinitely, constantly grinding against you, its really just not worth it to purchase this game at full price. at best this is a game that you wait a year or two before buying, or buy it when its at a 15-20 dollar discount.
Constant DC, Host crash, Map Resets to BEGINNING, Some weapons useless, Paid weapons behind DLC stronger than some base weapons. AI are completely useless will not shoot at targets near them, solo mode has nodes to increase there damage/hp etc means nothing if they do not shoot and constantly block you playing. Recoil on some guns to such a level where you are just constantly pulling down for hundreds of rounds to counter, i gave up and just use smart gun (auto aim) on all classes with damage modifier, who the hell wants to hold multiple mouse buttons while pulling down for 500 rounds as each one does 3/4 damage per shot. Hidden stat, that is not explained apart from in a tool tip menu over 4 pen prevents shots bouncing of SOME, that's right SOME have more than 4 resistance, so you need MORE pen than tooltip states. So either maximize the pen or just not use 60% of the weapons. ( Important on higher difficulties as there are more elites, less so on IGN or Standard skill levels ) I played the original, never felt this much grief while playing, spend most of my time inside the HUB shooting walls to try and make some guns playable, such as maxing recoil reduction just to reduce the amount of pulldown on most guns or simply give up and just install the auto-aim augment. Do not even get me started on friendly fire, people seem to miss the part where above standard it states "friendly fire enabled"
After replaying the first one and remembering how amazing it felt I was super excited to see how they would build off of it. Unfortunately they built off of nothing. The Synthetics that felt like a legit threat in the first game kind of just stand there and wait for you to walk up with a shotgun. I never felt like they were advancing or pushing me out of cover. The actual Alien that we all paid to fight just feels off. There is something that I cant quiet put my finger on. Each mission felt like a chore especially since I had to turn off my dialogue. AvP Had better writing. OMG and that music what the hell is that? Its like sad joke trombone the entire time. Not once does the music swell and make you feel like some bad ass again I had to turn it off. IDK if I will finish it at this point I may come back later but right now I am not sure how to recommend this. I will say this though, the Drones look terifying with those translucent skulls when they are coming after you. If you are enjoying it I am glad. Don't let me yuck on your yum. I know people are really enjoying this but I dont think that this one is for me at the moment.
