I had always heard great things about Alan Wake, so I decided to finally give it a shot. However, maybe my expectations were a bit too high, because by the time I finished the game I felt it was a bit overrated. Sure the story is good, but it didn’t blow me away like most people hyped it up to be. The gameplay, while unique, starts to feel dated and clunky after a while. By no means do I think Alan Wake is a bad game, I just think it’s either overrated, or my expectations were simply too high because of the constant praise I’d heard about it prior to playing. A solid recommendation for anyone who’s a fan of the Horror/Thriller genre!

Purchased this on a whim because I had $2 in my steam wallet and it looked cool. Best 2 dollars I've spent in my life. I've only just beaten the second episode (level) and the story and gameplay have me hooked. The use of light as your main weapon, while still using guns and the environment is one of the most unique ways I've seen a game handle combat. Resource management is really important too, given how little bullets you get. Also, can't run away from enemies because Alan is a fat ♥♥♥♥. Definitely a top 10 game for me.

American Midwest folk horror given flesh and bones. If you're a fan of Stephen King, David Lynch or supernatural/psychological horror in general, there's more than something for you here!
Alan Wake est un excellent jeu, qui vieillit bien malgré ses 16 ans (14 sur PC) et sa technique un peu dépassée. Sa force réside dans sa narration formidable et son scenario bien construit, prenant, s'inspirant indirectement d'oeuvres comme Twin Peaks. Son gameplay est peu précis, très approximatif et montre très vite ses limites dans les niveaux de difficulté les plus élevés. La bande son est suffisamment bien réalisées et distillées dans le jeu pour être ni pénible, ni redondante. C'est regrettable que sa suite n'ai pas vu le jour sur Steam car de nombreux joueurs PC (Moi y compris.) devront s'en priver en souhaitant ne pas multiplier les différents lanceurs. C'est également dommage que la version PC n'ai pas bénéficié de la version Remastered comme sur PS5. Au final, le jeu s'avère être devenu un classique et une belle réussite.
