Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.14/day in the week to Aug 24 → 5.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I'm kind of on the fence when it comes to American Nightmare, but for reasons that I think are outside what the game was trying to do. Immediately following up the first game, I definitely wasn't expecting the campy mystery horror game of Alan Wake 1 to suddenly turn down into an arcade shooter, and I feel that's where most of my concern stems. Everything about the game, the story, the setting, how it all loops around, it felt built around the fact it has this new, fully expanded and fleshed out mode built into it, with a wave like mechanic to it where you are supposed to fight and kill as many of the taken as you can. Including different classes of taken, different guns and ammo, new ordinances, etc. which is to the stories detriment. Nothing felt very justified for why things were happening, Alan's motivations for being there, the only other characters consisting of 3 two dimensional, male gaze-y woman side characters, a shallow, kind of corny antagonist, all for it to be retconned in favor of Alan Wake 2 by saying it was just another failed attempt on Alans side to escape the dark place. On the other hand, some, if not all moments throughout I couldn't help but get a 'hell yeah' feeling as I played around with the new weapons and gameplay, feeling a lot smoother than the first, streamlined to do nothing but mow down enemy after enemy, racking up as many points as possible, you get the idea. I know that the story is very, *very* bare bones, none of the characters are particularly interesting or important, Mr. Scratch isn't very well written, but call it a guilty pleasure because for this game, I was willing to shove all those feelings to the side and just enjoy my time playing American Nightmare. Simply for the reason that I felt like a small kid again, playing an overly simple game just to play it, just to enjoy myself without thinking about anything besides what was right in front of me for a small moment in time. It was really nostalgic in that sense. Logically, this game is pretty bad lol. But for me, I enjoyed my time spent on it, and leave it up to you to find out what you think for yourself, 6.5/10.

this entire franchise is worth playing and replaying. So good! <3

short but fun
"Alan Wake's American Nightmare"?
I genuinely forgot Remedy made this game but this did not feel like something Remedy had made This felt like I was drinking expired flat soda, idk how they took what made Alan Wake 1 so good and managed to make it not only extremely short but also very much filler. 4/10 don't really recommend this and this is coming from a Remedy ♥♥♥♥ Rider
