Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 10.43/day in the week to Aug 23 → 14.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
You are the Viceroy – a leader charged by the Scorched Queen to reclaim the wilderness and discover lost riches for the Smoldering City, civilization's last bastion against the Blightstorm that destroyed the old world. Unlike most survival city builders where your focus is on a single city, in Against the Storm you must build a vast, prosperous network of settlements populated by diverse fantasy races, each with their own specializations and needs.
The wilderness holds many hidden dangers, and never-ending storms will batter your population into submission. If your settlements should fall, then the expedition may end – but not the game. Against the Storm is a roguelite city builder, meaning you will carry forward the resources, upgrades, and experience of your past expeditions each time you set off for a new journey into the wild.

Foxes, beavers, and lizards stand alongside humans and harpies in the struggle to survive. Utilize each group's strengths as you balance their varying needs, from housing and culinary preferences to taste in luxuries and recreation. Will you manufacture raincoats, brew ale, and bake pies to boost morale in the face of the oppressive hostility of the forest, or will you prioritize the needs of one species over another to operate more swiftly for the Scorched Queen?

Experience core city builder gameplay enhanced by roguelite replayability. Build and manage multiple settlements spread out across a large world map, all while collecting valuable meta-progression resources to upgrade the Smoldering City. Feel the pressure of an expectant monarch as the Scorched Queen demands constant progress while recurring Blightstorms pose an inevitable threat to your settlements. Manage your reputation to secure your success at any one settlement before moving on to establish another, constantly seeking new opportunities for growth, taking on unique challenges across multiple biomes, and bracing for the inevitable destruction of everything but the Smoldering City itself. How will you maximize each cycle to not just ensure the best fate for the Smoldering City, but for your career as Viceroy as well?

With hundreds of gameplay modifiers and 6 distinct biomes, every city location presents unique challenges for even the most resourceful Viceroy. Adjust your strategy to changing weather conditions and experiment with rosters of building blueprints and perks that can help your society thrive or bring it to ruin. Will you take on and complete additional objectives and delve deeper into the dangerous forest for potential boons, or will you approach with caution to ensure you operate within your capabilities? All the while, you never know what wares the Trader will bring next year, and the forest holds treasures and resources, but also ancient threats.

Laying the foundations for a new city is one of the most exciting moments in a city-building game. In Against the Storm, you'll have the opportunity to repeatedly experience this by creating new settlements, while still interacting with your network of previously established cities in a growing world.

tutorial is insanely unhelpful and idk what ima supposed to do and i love city builders

I wish there was a "it depends" on the recommendation. It's not that I don't recommend it necessarily, more that I wanted to add a buyer's beware I wish I had seen better explained. First on the positive. The game is amazingly well done, very polished, cute graphics and interesting mechanics. The storm aspect adds a layer of awareness that keeps getting progressively worse the longer it takes you to clear a settlement. There's definitely a lot of management involved from resources, to people, to glade discovery (which is a fantastic mechanic) to spacial awareness. In that I highly recommend it. The negatives and what I wish I had realized before buying the game: It's repetitive. You're constantly starting over a new settlement. While I usually adore starting a city with my multiple Anno games that never reach end game as a witness, there's something about the middle game for me that is a sweet spot. I think the game doesn't quite allow you to get there with the impatience mechanic. I would have minded less the constant starting over if I could actually reach a point where I could significantly cater to the needs of the population, but just as I am starting to set that up and get some of the needed recipes for it, the settlement ends. Yes you can technically continue it, but what's the point? I also dislike you can't refuse settlers, particularly since you rely on the favor to unlock buildings. Perhaps if unlocked buildings kept from one city to another, but reset with the cycle end and the more cities you built during a cycle, the slower impatience will grow, it would create a better sense of progression. As is, it's basically a "how can you optimize your start" simulator, which gets boring after a few games. Disclosure: I did not read the full tech tree to see if there's upgrades to improve it, but considering how slow it is to get the currency, there's a risk of boredom before maybe goodies would improve it. I can still see myself playing the game from time to time but its a pass on the addiction for me. Worth it for the 70% off, would not pay full price for it. I also did not check if the DLCs fix some of the issues I had with the game. TL;DR. It has a repetitive kinda boring gaming loop that either will have you addicted (based on the overwhelming positive response) or just... not engaged at all after a few settlements, which was my case. Worth the discounted price, but not the full ride honestly.
Going into this I thought it would be a game I'd play for a long time. But after a few settlements I started noticing that you're always in a hurry to finish. That's not what I want from a city builder. Around 2/3 of the way into a settlement you also start feeling there's nothing you can do to turn it into a win — not because you played badly, but because the game dealt you a bad hand. I've since understood that this is the intended loop: you're supposed to abandon settlements and try again somewhere else. That's just not what I want from a game like this. I wish this were clearer up front. The store description calls it a dark fantasy city builder and the visible tags are Strategy, Simulation, City Builder, Base Building, Building — you have to expand the tag list to find anything about the roguelike structure, and that structure is the single most important thing to know before buying. It's a strange mix, and whether it works for you depends entirely on it. The building itself is genuinely good. Without the run-based framing this could have been a great game for me. As it is, 10 hours was enough to see it will frustrate more than reward.
♥♥♥♥ GAME 0/5
just so very repeatative.
OMG, what an incredible game this is. Sort of a city builder, but with a twist because of exploration of glades to find new resources. This, again, is burning away hours like it's nothing. Very much just getting started at only 7 hours in, but I know this is gonna be another one of those 500+ hours games. I\ve seen the main map, you can play a ton of different games to fill it all up. And the achievements/upgrade tree also supports this. If you like Dune 2, Command and Conquer, Starcraft, Avan Colony, you might like this game. Do note that there is no battle, just building/exploring and trying to be fast enough to complete the mission before the queen has had enough of you. Big thumbs up from me.
Honest to Queen, my favorite game ever made. Addictive, challenging, calming, with some of the most heavenly music and anxiety riddled tracks I've heard in a video game. Anyone who enjoys city builders, get this. Anyone who enjoys games as expression and art, get this. The devs have been delightful from the start in early access to now. Bought the DLCs, might buy the soundtrack here soon. I simply cannot deny my love for this game and the world it creates.
