Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.29/day in the week to Sep 15 → 1.25/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Multiplayer desync in town makes it unusable on the current version.
Scam developers changed the requirements.
Since the original devs sold the game rights to Paradox this has become nothing but a cash grab. They aren't fixing long standing bugs that have existed since they acquired the game, and their DLC skin packs don't even include skins for all the heroes. But the main reason I'm writing this review is I got to play the new act in the DLC as a friend who has the DLC hosted the lobby, and I was even more disappointed in this game. The final boss of the new DLC makes all your cards vanish when you play them, giving you discovery cards to play instead, which entirely invalidates the point of a deck building game. Imagine in an RPG going into the boss fight only to have your skills, armor, and weapons change randomly every single round. Paradox has demonstrated admirably how to cause a successful game to nosedive. Your money is better spent elsewhere.

Started good, but now there's just too much DLC. Pure greed.
The greed is real
I purchased this game before it was complete, with half the content in each act missing and only a handful of cards available for each character. There were nodes on the map you would go to that would literally turn you away, with a message from the devs promising the content was on its way. I didn't care because the game had so much potential and a solid foundation: beautiful and consistent art direction, simple yet elegant UI, fun multiplayer, and rewarding meta progression. Then Paradox Interactive came in and straight-up ruined it. I'm not overstating this for dramatic effect; recent reviews versus past reviews plainly show the downturn the game took. At the time of writing, the complete library of DLC for this game costs $150+ CAD, and 99% of it is content that should have been included in the base game for free. In short, ATO is a competent roguelike deckbuilder competing with masterpieces like Slay The Spire, but at 10x the cost. Just look elsewhere.
When starting the game, it is extremely laggy, affecting other tabs, including joining a shared server, which also experiences lag, and it takes a long time to start the first match. So, even though the game is interesting and attractive to me, I still have a poor experience with it.
good game, but than paradox bought it
While the game is fun enough it has the same problem as any other game published by Paradox: their horrible DLC practices (pricing mostly) I saw in my news feed there was a new Act 4 for the game and I thought maybe I'll check it out, only to find the DLC cost as much as the base game... LOL GTFO
