에이스 파일럿의 로망을 최대치로 채워주는 게임
It is very likely the prevailing opinion on Ace Combat 7 is the most correct one. It is a bad game? Not at all, but it is easily the worst Ace Combat game by far despite having some of the best aspects. It has some of the best concepts and mechanics, with the worst implementation and the worst presentation. A game full of great ideas, completely and utterly half baked, undercooked and then charred black on one side to hide the complete and utter lack of flavour. It is a good cut of meat, ruined entirely by an abundance of odorous and heavy herbs, appealing more to an impressive aesthetic presentation than being as delicious as it should be. The truth is, there is very little to say about AC7 other than it is an AC7 game. The DLC missions are, ironically, some of the best story telling, aesthetics, presentation, writing and set up in the entire series. The mechanics are far superior, the tone and everything is infinitely better than the main, actual campaign in every single way. While the main story has some incredibly interesting ideas, playing with a penal battalion of pilots flying junkheap ♥♥♥♥ cans against a next generation, unmanned army, it somehow is completely and utterly lacking in likable personalities. AC7 is a game that would be, max, good for 5-6 hours and instead is about 10-12, while overstaying its welcome after hour 3. The problem with the game is that it is objectively, pretty good, fairly entertaining with a high production value and some great fidelity from this era of unreal games, maintaining a decent amount of individuality. And yet, all of it is honestly wasted on a story that goes in circles in an endless dogfight with itself, chandelling and doing barrel rolls over its own sense and at times spitting in the face of its own lore, only for it come back at them at mach speed. It is not a guilty pleasure, it is a pleasure you honestly question the validity of and everyone is going to look at you wrong for enjoying it. But it does have good moments and the DLC missions, all three of them, are genuinely best played as the game itself. My genuine advice is to maybe play through the first five minutes of the campaign and ignore everything else, jump right into the SP missions and enjoy a far better conclusion to the package. Ideally you will get 4-5 hours of great gameplay and the most interesting bits of the story. You sadly will not miss much otherwise and as someone who really enjoys the type of stories AC otherwise can put together, 7 is simply a lost cause suffering from the series' own success, which translated into an apathetic and complacent, safe story. For a game that actually predicted a lot about the nature of AI, how it solves is problems and how artificial its reasoning is, as well as the moral implications of AI scraping pre-existing data and possibly being set forth to perform immoral deeds, the game highlights a lot of questions and answers little of them. In the end, AC7 is a game that merely presents concepts and does little besides showcasing them. In the end, it is a poor vehicle that has extremely little to say, if anything at all, besides justifying one of the worst outings in the series. The lack of manned pilots directly harms the game narratively and gameplay wise from the very beginning. The best missions in the game are the ones against manned pilots, which happens rarely and is at best display, once again, in the DLC missions. If you are new to the series and want to give it a try, you may be better off waiting for AC8. But if you are a completionist or a loyalist, the game is worth a single playthrough. But just one. A major problem of the game is that its checkpoint system and gameplay loop and over reliance on anti-fun mechanics does not make the game challenging in an intelligent way. Instead, the game is very punishing in a repetitive, exhausting way. Balancing maneuvers, your own weapon and munition counts, enemy rockets, flares, 2-3 conversations of varying importance, a hard to follow narrative focused entirely around characters who are not even flying with or against you, as well as overly complex and dramatic, overly literal translated dialogue combined with truly demented levels of hyper-cheese, makes for a very tasteless experience that is more grating than fun to play. Not to mention, the immersion factor is low and suspension of belief is completely gone by the fact the game is completely disinterested in engaging you in the rich strangereal setting of the series, in favour of slop, PS2-era mechanic and gimmick driven filler missions in between the actually interesting and fun stuff. The game is frustrating and difficult more in the way of... it would be fairly hard to outdrink a veteran alcoholic who already pregamed with an energy drink and his entire life is drinking, having a banana and blue powerade in the morning, and doing it all again. The game is less like a fine cigar with an old friend and a glass of whisky, and more like chainsmoking rain-soaked Lucky Strikes with a complete stranger who is more intoxicated than you, at someone else's house, at a "the bar closed" afterparty with a bunch of people who emotionally have never graduated High School. It is not horrible, but its easy to be really hard and bust the game's balls because of it could be and should be. AC8 will surely correct all of these grievances in the same way the DLC missions absolutely did.
다 좋고 재밋는데 와이드해상도 지원안함..
Amazing game !!!
An incredibly fun arcadey flight combat game, with a decent story to get you interested enough to keep going but not much after. If you liked shooting people from a Jet in GTA online, you'll like this game. A negative is the lockout of objectively better multiplayer parts from being used in single player (though thankfully resolved with mods) The game would be much more fun if the part limit was also removed, 8 is too little to have fun with.
Gameplay: 8 Visuals: 10 Sound: 10 Story: 10 Experience: 9 Verdict: Overall incredible game but some missions are poorly designed and frustrating to play
