About
You are not the hero. You are in charge.
In Acceptable Losses, you are the officer behind the line. You make the calls. You assign the missions. You sign the forms while your men bleed for inches of mud.
Each day brings new orders. Send squads on patrols, trench repairs, wiring parties, or assaults.
At night, face the paperwork. Read incident reports. Review medical updates. Scan intelligence briefings. Hope reinforcements arrive on time.
Balance your duty to HQ with the lives of the men under your command. Survive twenty days. That is all they ask. Perform well and gain influence to tilt conditions to your favor. Perform poorly and they take them back.
Deliver acceptable results and you may be ordered Over the Top. Survive the assault and you will be tasked with holding the captured trenches until replacements arrive. Fail, and you will be held responsible.
Over 60 missions ranging from routine trench duty to full assaults
Every Mission has at least 6 Outcomes
Over 120 mid mission events that shift outcomes in real time
Over 30 night events affecting squads, supplies, and trench conditions
Over 15 modifiers including morale, fatigue, weather, and enemy readiness
Randomly generated soldiers with unique names and birthplaces
Permanent death within your squads
Join missions personally for a leadership boost, but risk injury
HQ evaluations that determine your standing and whether you earn the chance to go Over the Top

Love the game, as a actual Army Officer I look for leadership games like this!! My only input would be a rank structure for the joes, or maybe the ability to select a squad leader.... Thanks for a fun game!!
It's a great game, the price is worth it. It feels a little empty in some ways, and RNG can really hit hard, but it would be nice to have a sort of "endless" or "campaign" mode with permadeath as a thing. If only to have a longer playthrough. My time represents three playthroughs of the game. I still would recommend it and I have no intention of refunding it despite having pretty much all the achievements. As I said, feels like it can be more, but it's a great game as it stands.

Nice game. I like it.
The game is fun, and kinda addicting, as is, although a bit short and repetitive. Really cool concept, pretty well-executed, can see it becoming great with some content updates. My main problem is that it sometimes feels completely random, in an unfair way. You could do everything right and still have a terrible day, which would be fine if a single bad day wasn't enough to derail your entire run and potentially cause a defeat. Still recommend you check it out, but the game could use a few rebalances
I love the Concept, the rng makes it really challenging. some runs you just get straight ♥♥♥♥♥♥ over near the start other times you get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ over near the end cuz artillery or some ♥♥♥♥ gets all of your squads below 5 thus losing the game. if you're into hard game go for it, but for me i feel i get over by rng
An atmospheric game, playable in a session. Nice blend of skill, luck, constant dilemmas and tricky choices. Like it!
I was sincerely impressed with how good this military command/management sim is. It simulates the difficult and emotionally taxing job of a platoon leader leading a section in the trenches of the Great War. Decisions you make can mean not only missions success & failure, but the life or death of the men under your command. Manage their morale and conditions while also keeping the enemy at bay by maintaining your defenses and ensuring a steady stream of supplies comes in... and desperately try to plug the holes in the line when casualties mount with the handful of fresh recruits that occasionally trickle in. Highly recommended.
I like this tiny, nice (actually terrible) game about the blood bath of WW1. Very well done game: you have to do horrible choices, you can follow the fate of your men and feel the sorrow because of their death. Good concept and well design game. A little bit too short.
Great game, could use a bit less RNG that ruins entire runs, If you are debating getting it don't let the bad RNG ruin it for you as it is still a great game. Could use some more replayability though.
Good game, and worth the money. Thematic that most of the outcomes are out of your control, and your job is to do the best with the cards you are dealt. I like the small touches like receiving letters from family. It would be good to have more things to spend influence on (extra men, extra supplies). As the other comments have mentioned, it is relatively easy to get cought in a death spiral.
