About
You are not the hero. You are in charge.
In Acceptable Losses, you are the officer behind the line. You make the calls. You assign the missions. You sign the forms while your men bleed for inches of mud.
Each day brings new orders. Send squads on patrols, trench repairs, wiring parties, or assaults.
At night, face the paperwork. Read incident reports. Review medical updates. Scan intelligence briefings. Hope reinforcements arrive on time.
Balance your duty to HQ with the lives of the men under your command. Survive twenty days. That is all they ask. Perform well and gain influence to tilt conditions to your favor. Perform poorly and they take them back.
Deliver acceptable results and you may be ordered Over the Top. Survive the assault and you will be tasked with holding the captured trenches until replacements arrive. Fail, and you will be held responsible.
Over 60 missions ranging from routine trench duty to full assaults
Every Mission has at least 6 Outcomes
Over 120 mid mission events that shift outcomes in real time
Over 30 night events affecting squads, supplies, and trench conditions
Over 15 modifiers including morale, fatigue, weather, and enemy readiness
Randomly generated soldiers with unique names and birthplaces
Permanent death within your squads
Join missions personally for a leadership boost, but risk injury
HQ evaluations that determine your standing and whether you earn the chance to go Over the Top

This is a solid game for the price. This is similar in some ways to other management games like 60 Parsecs, though simplified in some ways and expanded upon in others. The random elements are well balanced and provide for interesting resource management. Sound design and visuals are great. I love the diegetic nature of every menu and interface. My two criticisms are that the game is too easy to complete and there aren't enough mechanics to wrinkle gameplay. Maybe an additional choice in the night phase (whether between a few good options, a few bad, or a mix of both) would fix this. Another minor gripe was not being able to move men between squads (unless I just couldn't figure it out). With some tweaking this could easily be a very addictive game. Right now, its a solid experience that is good enough to warrant a playthrough.
While I commend the concept of the game, building the mechanics around obscure score-management while not giving any reliable way to handle such scores is shabby at best. Resources are quickly becoming scarce, and completely random spikes of difficulty due to unpredictable events make it impossible to 'win' (if such a term even applies). Would not recommend.

Great game
Nice game and mechanics.
Good little game. RNG can be frustrating at times but pretty fun overall.
Game is fun and enjoyable but the RNG is an issue. I don't mind RNG making the game difficult, but sometimes it makes it feel unfair. I had 4 full squads of 8 people with high morale (4-5/5) and high cohesion (brothers), got 80+ reports from HQ, and everything was just going well; on the day of the assault which was 2 stars difficultly, I rolled a failure and my game just ends there. It's just frustrating...

I feel the sins of those who died due to my fault
Needs a few QOL updates an/or some tweeks/fixs as things be; I had 2 squads (0/10 and 0/4) - I wish there was a way to send them off for medical treatment having varying rates of success. Also, did really well one round for 3weeks an 0 reinforcements, I was like damn could used the extra guys seems the games only gives ya 6-8 reinforcements if your not doing so hott. Game is really fun tho ; if some the RNG is tweaked an add some way to do things to fix your guys up; think this could be a really good casual ww1 game. I hope Zann Archive brings some improvements an updates. Also, already waiting for Acceptable Losses 2 (WW2) could have multi campaign- axis or allies ect ect... do a lot of different wars with this concept so think this could be a well on going title. Note: I did get a introductory offer for -30% off so it was like 6.50ish with tax; that less then what I spend on energy drinks in a week. Worth it.
