[b]backlog journal (8/150): playing & reviewing all my neglected sale games[/b] [i]bought in aug 2026 • completed in aug 2026 (100%)[/i] this is a hidden object game where you climb a tower and find cats hiding in each era, starting all the way back in prehistoric times, through the 20th century and eventually into the future. each cat gets coloured in once you spot it, which makes the whole tower feel like it’s slowly coming to life as you go. at the start, you get a magnifying glass to help spot the ones you’re missing, which cuts down on the frustration a lot if you just can't seem to find the last few cats in an area. otherwise, if you want a challenge, you can ignore it as well. on top of the cats, you’re also hunting for nuts and screws, and the magnifying glass won’t help with those. there are tools and items tucked into side quests that make the searching easier as you go. speaking of the side quests, they were a nice touch, a little puzzle-like even. most send you off to find an object that unlocks a room you’d passed by earlier and couldn’t get into yet, so you do end up having to backtrack a bit. i felt like this broke up the pace nicely and gave the game some depth besides “find the cats.” the art is super cute and the cats even have charming poses and outfits tied to whatever era they’re in. the developer’s own cats show up as npcs too! there’s an underlying message about adopting pets and saving the environment, which i found very sweet. a couple of things that could be better: the camera doesn’t zoom in enough in some areas (maybe this is just my bad eyesight oops), and a handful of cats end up being nearly impossible to spot simply from being so small. the music is nice at first but repeats often enough that i muted it after a while. overall, this is a pretty chill and cosy game. it takes about 3-4 hours to 100%, which does sound short on paper, but it never felt like it was lacking content. extremely worth it on sale, and your purchase goes to helping cats too! Nach meinen großartigen Erfahrungen mit anderen Spielen von Devcats war A Tower Full of Cats natürlich Pflicht und auch dieses Mal wurde ich nicht enttäuscht. Das Spiel bietet wieder jede Menge liebevoll gestaltete Szenen, in denen es unzählige Katzen zu entdecken gibt. Besonders beeindruckend finde ich, wie viele kleine Details und Anspielungen die Entwickler eingebaut haben. Dadurch macht das Erkunden nicht nur Spaß, sondern sorgt auch immer wieder für ein Schmunzeln. Die entspannte Atmosphäre, der charmante Grafikstil und die süßen Katzen machen das Spiel zu einem perfekten Titel für zwischendurch. Man merkt sofort, mit wie viel Leidenschaft die Entwickler an ihren Spielen arbeiten. Als Katzenfan kann ich die Spiele von Devcats nur empfehlen. A Tower Full of Cats ist ein weiteres gelungenes Wimmelbild-Abenteuer, das mich von Anfang bis Ende begeistert hat.
