Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.86/day in the week to Sep 11 → 13.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Leave the noise of the world behind and step into the quiet, rhythmic life of a woodsman. A Game About Chopping Trees is a meditative experience designed for players who find peace in simple, satisfying tasks, all wrapped in a calm and relaxing atmosphere with no timers, no pressure, and no stress. At its core, this is a game about the pure satisfaction of chopping trees.
When it's time to move on to a new stretch of woodland, hop aboard your trusty handcar. Pump the levers and glide along the rails through serene, peaceful landscapes. The journey between forests is just as relaxing as the work itself. Simple. Satisfying. Entirely at your own pace.
Enjoy the satisfying crack of timber as towering trees split and fall beneath your steady hand. As you make your way through the forest, invest your earnings to improve your chopping skills with upgrades such as a sharper ax, a stronger swing, and more efficient techniques that make every session feel even more rewarding.
The forest is a living cycle, and you can help it thrive. After clearing an area, take a moment to give back by planting new saplings in the spaces you've created. Watch your efforts take root as tiny sprouts gradually grow into towering trees once again. This gentle cycle of reforestation keeps the woodland lush and vibrant, allowing you to shape and nurture your own ever-changing forest.

Nice game for a 100%. Nice music and nice atmosphere.
Hello! I really enjoyed your game! I had a wonderful 20 hours playing it. Since I got this game as a stress reliever, I set some restrictions for myself, for example: I only used an axe; after clearing an area, I planted forests manually to my liking; hung out with the huskies, and enjoyed the views. Everything was great. I even visited a secret location and met an Ent. Hahaha. But I don't like the idea of killing him, just like I don't like the idea of sinking a ship. So I didn't do that in my playthrough. There was only one thing that upset me, and it was very upsetting. At the end of the game, after the hero lights the beacon, they show stats... In my case, there weren't any! All the stats were zero! I was so taken aback that I didn't even take a screenshot. I'm upset because I planted three forests but still don't know how many trees were needed.... Can I see the stats for my save?

For a $8 price tag, or $6.39 on its current sale its absolutely fun. Its calm and relaxing and visuals match it great. Yea its grindy, but guess what, based on the title and description of the game that's what you are signing up for.
A Game About Chopping Trees is exactly what its title promises: a relaxing simulation centered on the simple pleasure of cutting down trees and building a steady rhythm around forestry work. Developed by Space Raccoon Game Studio and published by Spaghetti Cat, the game embraces minimalism in both concept and execution, transforming an everyday activity into a surprisingly engaging gameplay loop. Rather than chasing elaborate narratives or high-stakes objectives, it invites players to grab an axe, ride a handcar through dense forests, and immerse themselves in an experience that values atmosphere and progression over urgency. The core gameplay revolves around harvesting different types of trees, transporting logs, and investing earnings into better tools and equipment. The Steam description highlights a gradual sense of advancement, and that progression becomes the title's strongest asset. Beginning with modest gear, players slowly improve their efficiency through upgrades that make chopping more satisfying without sacrificing the game's laid-back identity. The inclusion of a sawmill and various support activities helps prevent the experience from feeling overly repetitive, while the train tracks and handcar add personality to a premise that could have easily become one-note. There is an undeniable charm in simply traveling through the woods between jobs, listening to ambient sounds, and watching the environment unfold around you. One of the game's most appealing features is its commitment to being a "cozy" simulation. There are no looming deadlines, survival meters, or punishing mechanics constantly demanding attention. Instead, A Game About Chopping Trees leans into meditative gameplay, encouraging players to work at their own pace. This design philosophy aligns well with the growing popularity of low-stress simulators on Steam, particularly those that turn ordinary tasks into compelling experiences. The forests themselves serve as both workplace and retreat, creating an atmosphere that feels welcoming whether playing solo or alongside friends. Online cooperative play adds another dimension, allowing players to divide responsibilities, race along the tracks together, or simply enjoy the repetitive satisfaction of logging as a group. The game's presentation deserves recognition for understanding its audience. Its stylized visuals prioritize warmth and readability over photorealism, complementing the straightforward mechanics. Every chopped tree, upgraded axe, and repaired piece of equipment contributes to a sense of tangible accomplishment. Even seemingly minor additions, such as handcar travel and environmental interactions, help establish a stronger identity than the title initially suggests. The developers appear to understand that simulation fans often appreciate routines, and A Game About Chopping Trees builds an entire experience around making those routines enjoyable. It is less concerned with challenging the player and more interested in creating a comfortable digital space that can be revisited after a long day. That said, the game's simplicity may not appeal to everyone. Players looking for deep management systems, extensive crafting mechanics, or a compelling storyline may find its premise too narrow to sustain long-term engagement. Much of the experience depends on whether repetitive tasks provide satisfaction, as the fundamental activity remains centered on chopping, transporting, and upgrading. Fortunately, the title seems self-aware about its limitations. It never pretends to be a sprawling open-world adventure or an intricate simulator; instead, it succeeds by committing fully to its concept. In an industry often obsessed with scale and complexity, there is something refreshing about a game that confidently says, "Here is a forest and an axe—enjoy yourself." Ultimately, A Game About Chopping Trees succeeds because it understands the appeal of simple, satisfying work. Space Raccoon Game Studio has crafted a focused simulation that transforms lumberjacking into a relaxing pastime, while Spaghetti Cat's publication of the project helps bring another distinctive indie experience to Steam's growing catalog of cozy games. Its combination of steady progression, cooperative play, and tranquil presentation makes it easy to recommend to fans of casual simulations and meditative gameplay loops. While its niche premise naturally limits its audience, those willing to embrace its unhurried pace will likely discover an unexpectedly compelling experience hidden among the trees. Rating: 8/10
Look, game is pretty, I want to wander around in it, I want to see it. Except, it has this...♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stamina system. The devs claim "it provides an additional feeling of progression and development in our opinion." Out here in reality land, I chopped down ONE tree, was out of stamina, sold the two logs from that one tree for $20, and lost $5 to stamina regeneration. A QUARTER of my profit is being taken away...because. What an absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ atrocious design choice. The only additional feeling I got out of this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stamina system? The feeling of clicking that sweet sweet refund button. This game is blatant false advertising. It isn't "A Game About Chopping Trees." It is "A Game About Wasting Time Walking Back to Restore Your Stamina Instead of Chopping Trees."
It's incredibly fun and relaxing, but also incredibly frustrating when a log falls into water and you then are not able to progress to the next area. That needs to be fixed.
It's pretty decent. Not sure if it's worth almost $10 though, there's not much replay value in my opinion, other than it being mindless work. (in a good way). I think it's entertaining and fun for a while, but after getting all the upgrades you're wondering why you're even bothering to collect the logs anymore. But overall I got 9 hours of fun out of it, so I'd say get it, especially if it's on sale. I'm excited to see more content come for sure.
