About
Entities known as The Originals have lived for centuries, granted time, granted power, and the freedom to abuse both. That power is now owed.
Noa Brooklyn was born The Collector, raised by the Zaindaris for a purpose she did not choose: taking that power back.
Explore a handcrafted Amsterdam by day. At night, uncover what lies beneath its surface. Every facade carries a gablestone. Not all of them tell the truth.
The Originals walk among Amsterdam’s citizens, hidden behind human faces. Identify them. Mark them. When the Esbat comes, confront them in their true form under the moon. Collect what is owed.
Noa commands witchcraft and spellcasting passed down through generations of Zaindaris. Each target can be approached in multiple ways. Strategy, timing, and choice define the outcome. Every Esbat is a reckoning.
Noa is not alone. Aaron, summoned from 1999, now sees the world through the eyes of a cat. Together, they are one: Switch between Noa and Aaron across two radically different playstyles. One wields witchcraft. The other has four paws and flair.

The game received lots of negative reviews and I don't understand why. Purchasing an EARLY ACCESS game means that you are NOT getting a final product. Yes there are performance issues, bugs, and lots of frustrating moments, but this all should be normal. The discounted price I paid for the early access is to keep the development afloat and I'm looking forward to seeing it paying off, because the storytelling and musical composition are so incredibly unique and filled with potential. TL;DR: If you are willing to be patient with the game and watch it grow and develop to a masterpiece with time, buy it. If you are looking for a final version of a game that functions and runs well, you might want to wait a bit more. Edit: my actual graphics card is an RTX 4060 (laptop edition), idk why steam isn't showing it
Do I like this game? YES. Are the controls janky as can be? YES. Does this feel like an assassins creed game where you just swap out the animus for magic? YEAH BUDDY. Do I care? NOPE. I like the story a lot it's got me hooked and I want to know how it all ends. The settings are all good (from what you can see of some of them). I think this needs a lot of polish and for some stuff to be more streamline, but it's got good bones and veins. I am only disappoint i got to the end of early access can't wait for more.

While I would not say this is the best game I have ever played, I have so far had a good time and will come back to it again. There are some things I wish were a little different or I hope to see changed as the game develops, but as far as early access goes I think there is a lot of good to work with. I went into this game super excited about the concept. I have been dying for a game where I can run around as a witch in an old European town. I think overall the writing, character design, and game concept is really engaging and has the foundations for this to be a really interesting game. I specifically really love the ability to switch between magical and unmagical forms for Noa as well as being able to switch to the cat as a further method of exploring (although I do wish the choice we make at the beginnning about which cat we picked mattered a bit more, but maybe that comes in as I continue playing and I haven't reached that yet). I think these make the open world really fun and interesting as there is so much to see, do, and experience from different perepsctives. While the graphics are not the highest quality, I don't find them distracting or pixilated to the point where it is unplayable. It is not the most detailed or "beautiful" in terms of graphics, but I am impressed with what they have presented in early access so far. I think the petal detalils are so beautiful and that the town is layed out well to include the canals. I love traveling by canal <3 I think one of the things that got in my way most while playing is the amount of NPC's on the streets. I get that they are supposed to make Amsterdam feel more lively and busy, however, the amount seems to be just a bit more than the pathfinding can handle. I think making them a bit more sparse may help with in game navigation as well as with the overall preformance of the game. This is not a dealbreaker for me but it does take some patience to figure out the best way to navigate through the city. Another thing I would note for people who do not game often, or are slow to learn a games mechanics, it can sometimes feel like there is not enough direction as to what you are supposed to be doing in a specific area. While I do appreciate the open world structure as it gives me the freedom I like while playing a game, just a few more directions in areas where it is not so clear how to get Noa into a new space or where you are supposed to be going for a specific quest would be helpful. Another thing that I would be aware of before playing is that expecially in the beginning it is a little slower and you do have to push through several sequences that are not exactly what I had expected. These sequences are interesting and do help give you a sense of the story very quickly, but are a little slower in pace than most openings in games. I will say though that one of the things that I realy didn't like in the beginning was the over use of the sudden camera angler shifts to build suspense. I get what they were trying to do but becauyse of their choppiness, frequencey, and poor timing it sort of ruined trhe suspence in the beginning. As I continued playing they make more sense in the open world sections because they draw attention to important things, but its too freuquent right at the beginning for my liking.
I've played for about 6 and a half hours so far and honestly I love the game. there have been a couple of bugs in game so far. but all of them have been easily solved with a quick walk around the block or exiting to menu and loading straight back in. FPS is limited to 30 unless you turn off vsync in the games settings, you can then change it to 60 or infinite which makes gameplay much much smoother. Combat is simple enough, most of the time it is dodge until you see an opening and attack, with the first boss being the exception so far. just attack continuously and it can't hit you. only complaint about combat so far is that there isn't much magic involved, it seems to be purely a utility in the early game unless you blow up boxes and take guards with them. one of the main reasons I like the game is that, it is mentally taxing and requires a lot of thought. there are very few prompts to follow, no quest markers, no mini map or compass, just a simple map of the borough with places you've been before marked on it. it is very much up to the player to find their own way, so you constantly have to pay attention to dialog and remember as much of what you hear as possible even just walking around the streets, and use that information to progress. i'm really looking forward to see what comes next as the game grows and more boroughs are added, even in early access i would recommend this game.
I really wanted to like this game. The setting, atmosphere and art direction are genuinely great, and there are some really interesting ideas here. Unfortunately, actually playing it is incredibly frustrating. The combat feels clunky and imprecise, the parkour and navigation are often confusing, and the amount of bugs constantly breaks the experience. Too often, I felt like I was fighting the game itself rather than enjoying it. That’s what makes it so disappointing: there’s clearly a good game buried underneath all of this. But in its current state, I just couldn’t keep playing. Honestly, I’m pretty gutted I bought it. I really hope future updates give this game the kick it deserves.
I played the demo, it was promising, found out the game used AI, was sad and annoyed. Saw the devs "Removed" AI assets and decided to give it a try. The drastic cuts when going into dialog with NPCs is a bit jarring, the cutscenes themselves glitch almost every time. From clipping to Noa's dress fulling freaking out. The controls aren't smooth at all, jumping from surface to surface as the cat is wonky at best, and the combat is not only janky, but clunky and boring. When I saw that people that works on AC 1 were working on a new game, I was happy, but the game will never find success if the main parts of the game do not get fixed. TLDR, if you're in the air about buying this game, wait until full launch and see what it looks like then.

What a let down! I was excited for this game for months. Here’s what I don’t like. The graphics, even to the max, are just overall ♥♥♥♥. They’re “fuzzy” if you will. The combat is just spamming one button and dodging. There is no block or parry feature. When the enemies hit you, they hit HARD. The cat companion is buggy. There is a delay to jump to another surface, you can get bugged against walls, and the overall movement just feels wrong. The FOV is too close. Unless you are spinning your camera in a circle you won’t see the enemy until it hits you, and you die. For all the hype that was built up this game needs months more time to develop.
Yea this is an early access there still working on it but and it shouldn’t cost almost $30 dollars. Good concept, but No.
