About
Entities known as The Originals have lived for centuries, granted time, granted power, and the freedom to abuse both. That power is now owed.
Noa Brooklyn was born The Collector, raised by the Zaindaris for a purpose she did not choose: taking that power back.
Explore a handcrafted Amsterdam by day. At night, uncover what lies beneath its surface. Every facade carries a gablestone. Not all of them tell the truth.
The Originals walk among Amsterdam’s citizens, hidden behind human faces. Identify them. Mark them. When the Esbat comes, confront them in their true form under the moon. Collect what is owed.
Noa commands witchcraft and spellcasting passed down through generations of Zaindaris. Each target can be approached in multiple ways. Strategy, timing, and choice define the outcome. Every Esbat is a reckoning.
Noa is not alone. Aaron, summoned from 1999, now sees the world through the eyes of a cat. Together, they are one: Switch between Noa and Aaron across two radically different playstyles. One wields witchcraft. The other has four paws and flair.
Panache Digital Games is an independent studio founded by Patrice Désilets, creative director of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and Assassin’s Creed.
It has a long way to go to reach it's potential
That is what the main thoughts were when I was playing this game. The setting of 17th century Amsterdam is really strong and is quite the delight to explore. I think the visuals are really well done and Panache deserves some praise for that with the small team that are working on this. Although the setting looks great.
seriously the city architecture, textures and overall vibe are superb
there are quite some cracks to be found. The most glaring one are that the city itself feels lifeless. Which is odd as there are hundreds of npc's walking around. But these do not speak, look not too great and walk through the player and each other constantly. Or that sound effects are missing in quite some of the cutscenes breaking immersion. I like the character of Noa quite a bit. Calm, collected and mysterious all in one. With the best voice acting of the game. Aaron is fine but nothing special. The gameplay loop consists of gathering clues during the day, finding the originals, crafting potions, looting the city for materials and potion recipes. If a door is locked your cat familiar can probably unlatch the door. But the amount of times I got stuck unsure what I could jump on as the cat is insane. This needs better and more clear signaling imo. When Night falls you go out to hunt and collect the original so far concluding in a sort of boss fight that looks great but is let down by the overall lacking combat system of the game. The hits do not feel impactfull enough, Boss enemy attacks are not choreographed clearly and the dodge is not great. Resulting in getting killed in a few seconds having to redo some of the set up for the encounter. I also was able to stunlock the second boss, hitting it over and over until it died and I won. This really needs some work during the early access. Now for the thing that gripped me and makes me want to continue playing. The parallel story of both Noa and Aaron in different timelines, The mystery of how they connect, can work together with all the tidbits of witchcraft terminology. Is really quite interesting and helps. Like Assasins creed playing in the 17th century is more "fun" than the modern setting but so far the modern parts where quick and not too annoying.
So for now I give it a hesitant thumbs up. I can see the vision but it is really rough around the edges and needs some work to make it really enjoyable. If you like witches or the 17th century, it's premise alone should be enough to buy the game. Otherwise I would wait for some updates
I LOVE THIS GAME I NEED MORE UPDATES SOON!!!!
Feels like a humiliation ritual Almost literally thats my biased opinion My unbiased opinion is that This game is straight up unfinished or at least I hope it is, because honestly if they originally planned to give us this as is id think they hate us Combat is kinda garbage and they kinda just make the guards pretend not to see you until they want you to be attacked The story is extra weird from the get go and takes like an hour to get anywhere interesting and if I hear the cat glaze the chick that basically betrayed him again im gonna vomit. To top it off how can you give me the ability to fly and then proceed to trap me on a single street.its like they thought they were making a superhero game and changed their mind halfway through Honestly save your cash and go play forever winter or something
beautiful Game
graphisme magnifique, histoire prenante, hâte qu'il soit terminé
Ой, девочкииииии....скажу коротко и ясно: любителям тематики про ведьм данная игра понравится. Конечно баги есть, никто не отрицает, но все поправимо. Разработчикам душевный лайк и успехов)
This game is for the girlies. If you like dark academia (booktok I'm looking at you!), open exploration, and a witchy vibe this will be a great play. It's a good mix of story, exploration, and combat. I like that you can switch POV's and the possession aspect with the cat is super cool. It's visually stunning and I like taking my time and finding cool hidden things as I go. Now, it's not perfect. There are some annoying things they need to work on - the joystick jumping for the cat needs some work and there are a few other gaps in gameplay that need improvement - but I've played a lot of trash early access games and this is still enjoyable to play with minimal bugs. There's not a lot of guidance so it's a bit of trial and error. Overall I really like the unique-ness and spooky edge this game has. I'll be looking forward to updates and improvements as the game/community grows.
