Zombie Parking, developed and published by XPAGAME, is a small-scale third-person zombie shooter that strips the genre down to its most basic components. Set entirely within the confines of a dark, multi-level parking garage, the game offers players a simple premise: survive as long as possible while mowing down endless waves of the undead. Released as a budget indie title, it makes no pretense of being a complex or cinematic experience—instead, it aims to deliver fast, straightforward zombie-blasting action that anyone can pick up and play within seconds. It is the kind of game that wears its simplicity openly, relying on repetition and arcade-style progression rather than narrative or innovation to carry the player through. The gameplay revolves around a familiar formula. Players start armed with two weapons—a shotgun and a machine gun—and must fend off hordes of zombies that spawn in waves throughout the dimly lit parking structure. The mechanics are extremely basic: move, shoot, collect ammo, grab health packs, and pick up occasional power-ups. There are no elaborate objectives, no exploration beyond the parking area, and no story to follow. The sense of progression comes from survival time and score, as each wave becomes faster and deadlier, forcing you to constantly reposition and manage limited resources. Scattered across the environment are bonus items that temporarily enhance your abilities, such as double damage, invincibility shields, or ammo refills. These give the game brief bursts of energy, breaking up the monotony just enough to keep players engaged for short sessions. It’s an uncomplicated gameplay loop—one that can be both its greatest strength and its biggest weakness. From a visual standpoint, the game looks competent but unremarkable. Built on Unreal Engine 4, the graphics are clean but repetitive, relying heavily on concrete textures, flickering lights, and a dull color palette to create atmosphere. The parking lot serves as the sole environment, and while it effectively conveys a sense of claustrophobia and decay, it lacks variation. Every playthrough unfolds in the same setting, so the visual experience quickly becomes stale. The character models for the zombies are serviceable, but they don’t offer much diversity in appearance or behavior. Still, for a low-budget indie project, the game’s technical performance is decent. It runs smoothly on modest hardware, and the shooting mechanics—though rudimentary—feel responsive enough to avoid frustration. The sound design complements the experience in expected ways: echoing gunfire, growling zombies, and ambient industrial hums help maintain tension, even if the audio variety is as limited as the environments. What keeps Zombie Parking mildly entertaining in short bursts is its arcade-like immediacy. There’s something appealing about jumping straight into chaos without any cutscenes, dialogue, or complex systems getting in the way. It captures the feeling of old-school survival shooters where the objective was simple: shoot everything that moves and try to beat your previous high score. The inclusion of 35 Steam achievements and an online leaderboard provides a small incentive for players to push for better performance, giving completionists something to chase. The game’s accessibility and low price point also make it an easy impulse purchase—one of those titles that might not impress but can fill a few minutes when you’re in the mood for mindless action. However, the same qualities that make Zombie Parking easy to jump into are also what prevent it from holding attention for long. The lack of variety in maps, weapons, or enemy types means that the game feels repetitive after only a few rounds. Without any real progression system or unlockable content, there’s little reason to keep coming back once you’ve experienced the core loop. The zombies themselves pose minimal challenge after the initial learning curve, and with an abundance of ammo and health pickups, survival rarely feels truly desperate. The absence of multiplayer or co-op modes further limits its replay value, leaving the experience feeling isolated and somewhat hollow. While players may enjoy a short session or two, the gameplay doesn’t evolve enough to sustain prolonged engagement. The overall design philosophy of Zombie Parking seems to lean toward minimalism. It’s a title that offers one map, two guns, and one gameplay mode. This kind of focus could have worked if the game had leaned harder into tight balance, faster pacing, or environmental storytelling, but instead it feels more like a prototype than a fully realized game. The repetition is especially noticeable in longer sessions, as the endless loop of running in circles and gunning down similar enemies eventually drains the tension that makes zombie shooters exciting. Still, for some players, this stripped-down approach can be oddly satisfying. There’s a certain catharsis in turning off your brain and blasting away at zombies without worrying about objectives or strategy. It’s a game that can be enjoyed best in very short sessions, as a casual stress reliever rather than a serious survival experience. In the end, Zombie Parking is a niche product—an extremely simple, low-budget action game that offers a small dose of entertainment for players who enjoy shooting zombies for the sheer sake of it. It lacks the depth, variety, and polish of larger titles in the genre, but it compensates slightly with its straightforward design and quick playability. It’s the kind of game that can occupy a few idle minutes but won’t leave much of a lasting impression. For players seeking an inexpensive, no-frills shooting gallery where the only goal is to survive against an unending horde, Zombie Parking serves its purpose. But for anyone hoping for progression, atmosphere, or innovation, it’s little more than a fleeting diversion—a reminder that even the simplest concepts can entertain briefly, but only for those who know exactly what they’re signing up for. Rating: 6/10
I got this game a while back as an ironic joke and I recently found it again in my steam library. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is it fun. This is such a fun game to kill time with it being so simple. I would say that it could use better A.I, more weapons, and maybe Bosses. Im asking for too much for something like that. This game is really bare bones and it looks bad, but this game is so cheap, you might as well give it a shot. 7/10. Actually fun
defently a really fun and cool arcade shooter game with zombies the graphics are pretty good it have 2 weapons and some normal zombies in a parking like the tittle says but is nice to have a simplistic arcade game like this to kill some time ...time to time haha if you like zombie shooter games i recommend this one
If Left 4 Dead was developed by fermented sea cucumbers, Zombie Parking is the result.
Shoot zombies in a parking lot. Fun for a few minutes but it is mostly mindless action. Go in not expecting much, and mostly some mind-numbing shooting at things and you'll be alright.
