Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.14/day in the week to Aug 14 → 2.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

As a completionist, Kiwami 2 follows the Yakuza tradition of being an utter pain to fully complete. While noticeably easier than Kiwami 1 in terms of completion requirements, it still falls into the same traps of making you complete repetitive tasks past the point of feeling accomplished in said tasks. As always, some achievements do not feel tested on the developers part (Win 10 Darts Matches and Go Out with Ron or Tsumo 30 Times come to mind). Additionally, Baseball requires a far too long grind in order to unlock it's required skill and heat action. The side mode achievements were fairly well balanced which was a welcome change to the grind that Majima Everywhere introduced in Kiwami 1. Despite this, Kiwami 2 holds up as a remarkable game and a fantastic narrative sequel to Kiwami 1 as well as a gameplay sequel to Yakuza 6. IMO Ryuji holds up alongside Mine as one of the best villains RGG have written. Combat is much improved over 6, although Majima's Mad Dog in the Majima Saga leaves MUCH to be desired.

Great continuation from Yakuza K1. K2 uses the new Dragon engine, which gives it a huge graphical improvement (Sotenbori at night being especially beautiful to look at). The combat system has also been dramatically altered, sacrificing the 3 unique styles for just one you can upgrade while having 3 weapon slots instead of one. I didn't feel too strongly about this change, except that I did miss switching between such unique styles. Even though the ragdoll physics can be downright goofy and take you out of serious moments, being able to chuck enemies into the Sotenbori River and onto the highway like Mario spinning Bowser in SM64 will never not be funny. A few minor details I'd like to praise are the improved inventory system, how eating food also grants XP, and the variety of heat actions (Essence of Sadism and Essence of Unlucky Man ftw). The Majima Saga was also nice - tying up Makoto's story with an amazingly bittersweet ending, though the actual gameplay was very lacklustre. For downsides: most of the side-stories weren't very engaging/interesting, the camera felt very floaty - like it was on ice, weapons which let you completely dogwalk bosses, a few plot conveniences, roaming gangs now chasing you across the entire town instead of stopping after a little bit. Favourite moments: Age-regressing yakuza family, Kiryu voicing a boys-love eroge, Kiryu tiger-dropping a tiger, Kiryu slamming the table and storming off, Dio's VA Takehito Koyasu voicing a character in Majima's Saga. 8/10.

have not finished the game yet but the combat is nice, the enemies arent as tough but i find evading attacks a bit difficult, but after all i didnt upgrade it to the max, so i cant really judge much on that point. the sidestories are good and entertaining as much as the main story. I like that they kept minigames in the game, such as the cabaret club or the majima game, although im not an expert in the majima one and i suck at it. A BIG improvement with the UI and the graphics in the game, which i absolutely loved. the game buffers sometimes and often gives me a message saying that my controller has deconnected, even though its on bluetooth sometimes but i dont find it as annoying. My goal right now is to 100% the game so that i can leave a valid review, but in general i find the game better than the first one, in certain aspects, not in all of them. Overall a 10/10 at the moment
TIGER DROP
A wonderful remake with the new Dragon Engine. No one should start with the second part of Yakuza. But if you like the previous Yakuza games, you can't miss out on this one. The combat is great, the quests are fine, and the story (especially the ending) is pure cinema. Hands down, Kazuma Kiryu is one of the best video game characters of all time !
