Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2/day in the week to Aug 14 → 2.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews
There's a lot to like about this one compared to the others - The change in cut-scene art style and extra interactivity with the world map, in particular stand out, and the breaching adds an extra little bit of flavour to gambling for advantageous encounter starts. HOWEVER, if I could rate this game with a "Shrug" rather than a "Yes" or "No", that's what it'd really get from me: 5/10 All the new goodness is brought down by the same infuriating rng of the other games, to the point where I actually missed 100% shots in the short time I could bare playing it. Also, I hated the doofus characters I was forced to play with, and the tiny roster of recruits compared to the original. The classes seemed ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and unsatisfying compared to the classics, and I had absolutely no desire to develop the characters I was forced to play. If you're looking for more of a "Comic-booky" version of XCOM, that feels less military and more rpg, then you might like this. Otherwise, the original is probably still the most satisfying.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 21: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

I like playing Xcom with my Xbox controller. This game is fun just like Xcom 2!
好玩
I loved the original xcom 1 2 and especially 3. the large scale city managing and alternate dimension. Then the remakes 1 was great, 2 was pretty good but while chimera was in a single city, and you had aliens on your squad... the city management like most of the missions was just a game of rock paper scissors. Once you see the patterns you need the harder difficulties to add much challenge to it. Its too much of a special character super power squad RPS game than anything else. Xcom 3 was good because despite being just a city there was still a lot to manage but this one was just too simple. in many ways i feel pheonix point was a better successor remake analog of xcom 3 apoc than this game. I really wanted to like chimera too because it was quite polished. it was just too oversimplified. im torn on recommending or not.
brings the XCom joy of solving a tactical puzzle plus some extremely fun characters instead of nameless squaddies.
I'll take any form of X-com I can get. I'm getting desperate. I even played Phoenix Point. This game good though. Good game.
A mild thumbs up. I encountered no problems with it technically and got my money's worth on sale. It's a lite, lite X-Com adjacent game. Lol. It's not unfun though repetitive. At no point will you say 'wow' this is really cool like you did in XCom 2. The 'dialogue' is the worst part. Extremely cringy woke DEI barf-inducing babble that goes on, and on, and on, and on. I for one don't want to play the aliens I spent many hours annihilating in XCom, especially when they all suddenly have 'personalities' imported from Sesame Street.
