Wreckfest

I'm very casual when it comes to racing games, but I would say this one is solid. I have certainly spent more time on this game than I would have expected, when I picked it up for a low price during a sale. After getting used to the somewhat "realistic" controls I found them to be rather satisfying to learn and master. There are no real cars here, but I prefer silly names like "Warwagon" or "Muddigger" anyways. The number of tracks is quite plentiful in my opion as there is a degree of mastering the courses as well - there are regulat racing tracks and "arenas" where you just crash into other racers and try to make them look as silly as possible as their once hot ride becomes more and more of dismantled lawn mawer. By the way, there is a lawn mawer to drive on. And a school bus. The selection of cars ist pretty fun and destruction animations feel pretty good. I didn't love everything though: The destruction physics feel a bit awkward at times. There are instances where a small car barely touches another participant and the latter is considered crashed. But sometimes you clearling race into someone and the game doesn't consider that a crash. Also, really big cars like busses feels like they sometimes get crashed a bit too easy by smaller rides. Those instances can be frustrating, but it's overall not that bis of a deal. Sonething that is in fact really not okay, is how the creation of servers work - they don't. This game isn't THAT old, you should be able to create a for other players to enter easily, but in actuality you have to take some kind of complicated workaround. And how Sonic the Hedgehog would say: That is no good! There are public lobbies to join, but in a lot of those people just love driving in reverse just to crash other people... I mean, I get it, but when five people do that nonstop it gets grading. Well, at least there is plenty of single player content!
