Glad that bugbear are back and made this game! Hope WF2 will be not a sandbox and feel like more complete game. But if you 30y,o you should try that and compare to flatout 1-2

Cars have their own distinct characteristics, feel perfectly weighted and great fun to drive. Demolition side is very fun and adds some new, refreshing dynamics to the game such as unexpected roadblocks. Overall, wonderful racing game and I've played my fair share over the years. These guys would be perfect for a Driver re-reboot! Only have a few small issues such as it would be nice to have upgrades that directly affect things other than just top speed and acceleration and it's annoying when you have to wait a second to view a car in your garage or market instead of them all being pre-loaded

Wreckfest is a fantastic banger racing game and, especially considering its age, still holds up remarkably well. It delivers exactly what you would want from a demolition-focused racing game: fast cars, bent metal, spectacular crashes, and plenty of chaotic racing. The graphics are certainly showing their age, but they remain perfectly acceptable and the game still looks good in motion. The car damage system in particular adds a lot to the experience, with vehicles becoming increasingly battered as races progress. It strikes a nice balance between looking good and keeping the focus on the racing rather than trying to be a cutting-edge graphical showcase. Another major positive is the active online community. There are still plenty of people playing, which is important for a game built around chaotic multiplayer racing. The soundtrack is also excellent and fits the game's high-energy atmosphere very well, helping make the races feel even more intense. The biggest drawbacks are relatively minor. Car customization is somewhat limited, so there isn't quite as much freedom to personalize your vehicles as you might hope. Multiplayer server discovery can also be frustrating. There is no search-by-term function, and the friends' server list does not always display correctly, which can make finding a particular server more difficult than it should be. Overall, Wreckfest is an excellent game for anyone who enjoys banger racing, demolition derbies, or just racing games where the occasional fender-bender can turn into a full-blown automotive catastrophe. Its age is noticeable in a few areas, but the solid gameplay, acceptable graphics, active online community, great soundtrack, and wonderfully chaotic driving make it well worth playing.
This is an absolute blast as a multiplayer game with friends, just gotta set up your own server unfortunately.
