Игра плохая, просто плохая
It's nearly a hidden gem of a metroidvania except for the fact that it's too short and a bit glitchy. While the game play is simplistic, it's actually pretty fun. You play as a witch and move through different environments defeating enemies to get to the next save point and eventually defeat the boss. You get a couple magical spells but only a few are really useful in combat. Her regular wand attack can pummel enemies at close range, but you need to be careful because this game is surprisingly pretty hard. Most indie metroidvanias tend to have overly simplistic combat, but this game's fights require a degree of skill. The bosses in particular have varying phases and you pretty much need to memorize the attack patterns to win. Beyond this there are shards for health and magic and you pick up a few new spells as you progress. It's almost a great game, the only issue is that it's just way too short. The glitches don't really break the game but they can be irritating, especially since the game is pretty hard to begin with. 100% completion adds an hour or so to the game play but this game takes 3-4 hours at most to beat. The graphics are absolutely beautiful and remind me of other indie classics like cave story. It's the best game by this developer and considering I spent less than a dollar on it I would say it is well worth the money.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

A short, but fun game. The little bugs doesn't break the game at all, you'll just need sometimes to be hit to move normally again in very rare occasions (ok, you could die from being hit to back to move like you should, but the game is really short, so is not that relevant in the end). The story is funny, the plataform is nice, normal enemies are ok, and the bosses aren't first try beatable in general, but is not really difficult to learn they attacks after you be defeated sometimes (well, that was my general experience, at least).
Too short and clunky. And, by the way, it's not a Metroidvania.
Witchcrafty is a 2D side-scrolling action-adventure developed and published by PigeonDev that blends classic platforming with light metroidvania progression and a whimsical fantasy aesthetic. Framed as the journey of a young witch trying to restore balance to a kingdom overtaken by dark forces, the game immediately establishes its tone through colorful pixel art, enchanted forests, icy caverns, and ruined castles that feel pulled from a storybook. Its visual identity is one of its strongest assets, leaning into vibrant palettes and expressive sprite work that give the world a lively, magical atmosphere. Gameplay centers on exploration, combat, and incremental ability unlocks. As with many metroidvania-inspired titles, progress is gated behind new powers that allow access to previously unreachable areas. The protagonist wields both a wand for close-range attacks and a set of elemental spells, including fire, ice, and lightning. These spells are not only combat tools but also interact with environmental elements, such as burning barriers or activating mechanisms. This dual-purpose design encourages players to think about traversal and combat as interconnected systems rather than separate mechanics. Dashing and evasive maneuvers add mobility, giving encounters a sense of rhythm and flow when the controls feel responsive. The structure of the game follows a relatively straightforward progression path. Players move through distinct biomes, defeat bosses, and unlock new abilities that expand exploration options. The map design supports backtracking, though it tends to be more guided than open-ended, making it accessible to players who may not want to navigate sprawling labyrinthine worlds. While this approach keeps the adventure focused and approachable, it also limits the sense of discovery compared to more intricate entries in the genre. Exploration feels rewarding at times, but the layout can occasionally feel linear despite its metroidvania framing. Combat offers moments of satisfaction, particularly when combining melee strikes with elemental spells. However, enemy variety can feel limited across the full length of the game. Many foes share similar behavior patterns, and while they may appear in different visual forms, their mechanics do not evolve dramatically. This can make extended combat sequences feel repetitive, especially once players settle into a reliable attack rhythm. Boss encounters attempt to break up this repetition with larger-scale challenges and more defined attack patterns, though difficulty spikes in some encounters can feel abrupt rather than steadily escalating. The narrative, while charming in premise, remains relatively simple. The central conflict revolves around corruption spreading across the land and the young witch’s quest to uncover its origins and restore harmony. Dialogue and character interactions add personality, but the story does not delve deeply into character development or complex themes. It functions effectively as a fairy-tale backdrop for the adventure but may leave players wanting greater narrative depth or emotional stakes as the journey unfolds. Technically, Witchcrafty reflects both the ambition and limitations of an indie project. Its pixel art is consistently appealing, and environments are designed with care. However, some players may encounter minor technical inconsistencies, such as occasional glitches or uneven responsiveness during precise platforming sections. Movement and jumping mechanics, while generally serviceable, may not always achieve the level of tight precision seen in genre-defining platformers. These moments do not necessarily break the experience but can detract from its overall polish. Despite its imperfections, Witchcrafty succeeds in delivering a cohesive and visually engaging fantasy adventure. Its accessible design makes it approachable for players who enjoy light metroidvania elements without overwhelming complexity. The charming art direction and magical theme carry much of the experience, creating an inviting world that is easy to immerse oneself in. While it may not redefine the genre or rival more expansive metroidvania titles in mechanical depth, it offers a compact and aesthetically pleasing journey that highlights the creative spirit of indie development. For players drawn to colorful pixel art adventures with straightforward progression and spell-based combat, Witchcrafty provides an enjoyable, if somewhat modest, magical excursion. Rating: 5/10
A very soft recommend IF you love Metroidvanias and don't mind some of the shorter ones (Microvanias) currently out, and your backlog is short/already played all the heavy hitters. There are a lot of grammatical errors and the controls are a but finicky, but it's heart is in the right place and it's fun.
its like pg flipwitch, so rad (also yes ik this came out first)
