Very competent top-down Zelda-like. Well-polished and good puzzles. The minecarts in the second level were a little frustrating. Nostalgic art, music is a bop. A hearty recommend, especially for such a low price.

A short top-down action game that it's worth every penny. The dungeons are very interesting and the use of the items is clever. Bosses also pose a fair challenge. Don't think twice, just buy this game!

If you've been having that itch to play something a little like the old Zelda games, and miss that 8 bit feel, this game will do a lot for you. First things first: this isn't just a carbon copy of the Zelda formula. It does a couple of fun and unique things! There's lots of charm in the dialogue, the score is bubbly and a joy to listen to, and exploring and doing the side quests was fun! The 3 color palate reminds me a lot of the GameBoy era and I think gives the game some style! While short, there's good challenge here without being tedious, same-y, or annoying. The puzzles and mechanics are fun! I was actually scratching my head a couple of times here and there figuring things out, but things were never to cryptic or obscure! I enjoyed puzzling out certain areas, and it seems a lot of detail and care went into them! It keeps things fresh by introducing new elements fairly often and balancing dungeon and overworld very nicely! The one gripe I see in couple of these reviews is needing to open the menu to equip items often, but it never really bothered me. Maybe because I'm used to older games that did this, or maybe because I kind of liked it...the game doesn't overstay its welcome though. If you think it might bug you, I'd still strongly recommend trying this game out! Especially with this bonkers sale going on!
