You can play as a dragon! 10/10 great game.

a little buggy but a beautiful relaxing game of casual exploration
Good game,but we need Chinese!
It needs work. Good thing it's being worked on. The dev has posted some update videos. So while there hasn't been an update on here in a while, it's nice to see they're working on it. I see where the vibe of this game is going, and I like it. It's relaxing. I look forward to seeing some refining, and a few more features. If the price of this were higher, I would say wait. But the barrier to entry is so low, that I'd say it's already worth it just to see where it's at and enjoying it for what it is.
I thought I already reviewed it. Anyway, it is a cozy little game which can generate worlds from tiny to huge. Multiple biomes, some dungeon exploration, although as of now it is all just for exposition, as there is not much of what would be called gameplay. The playable avatar does some tricks, and there are other NPCs as well, of the animal and artificial kind, but they also don't really interact with the player, other than following. You can transform into any of these creatures. Roam the plains as a horse, run around as a wolf, walk the forest as a deer, even fly as an eagle, there are options. There is even a boat you can impersonate, to explore the seas. And then there's dungeons, with what would be an early sketch at mechanism puzzles. All in all this is a courageous take on the BOTW-type of game world, and $5 are well worth the price of early access, with no room for buyer's remorse. If there is one point of criticism I have, it would be the look of the playable avatar, which doesn't really align well with the rest of the game. But that's a subjective matter of taste, so don't take my word for it.
Not my normal type of game and generally not a normal type of game but I find that I enjoy it. It's similar to a game I love that I always have kept installed called FUGL (bird). Anyway the environment is very passive and the music is relaxing and it seems like the only current goal in EARLY ACCESS has been to collect spells and ride/pet the animals. It's really cute. I hope it gains traction so devs build an even greater experience. So far my favorite activity has been to ride the dragon which you can do by feeding it. There is nothing to kill and nothing seems to be able to kill you. The most difficulty I had was in the dungeon which was really not difficult. I purposely jumped into the lava to see if I'd die (the double jump and glide trivialize these simple trials), and you don't even after seventeen times. You vanish before you touch the lava and a red ball transports you to the last ledge. I wish more games let you just enjoy them this way. My biggest issue is with navigating the simple menu and graphic modifiers. I can't seem to follow a consistent graphic setting which is odd but then again, my machine is very dated and maybe the options are working flawlessly with an inept monkey (me) behind the controls. One example is that I somehow changed my head to a male head and then back to a female head but upon reentering the menu I can never change it to a male face/head again. The option has simply vanished. I recommend this but please be respectful to the devs, as this early access title is still in the works. (I love to spawn a shelter which can be anything from a covered wagon or a fully furnished house. lmao there are so many)
This is more a virtual environment than a game right now, which is fine by me! I like cozy games and this right now is definitely one. You can walk around the world and collect objects which can be given to various animals who will then let you ride them. There are even pirate ships! Arr!
Wilderless delivers an adorable art style in a small download. The music is wonderful and I hope development continues because the game has enough foundations to become a great adventure game if a few small features are added and refined.
