About
Use momentum-based movement mechanics with precision, deploy a variety of tools and resources, and ascend as fast as you can.
Just don't lose your grip, there’s eternity below you.
Manage your inventory or become encumbered and fall to your death. Failure to grab what you need from your bag in time can spell disaster.
Through run-based meta-progression, you’ll discover and unlock varied augmentations.
Bolster your will to ascend.
You're not alone down here. Strange life flourishes far underground, and darker things haunt these halls. Something oozes from the depths– following you, growing angrier… and it won't let up.
Travel through different regions with unique threats and gameplay challenges during your attempted escape of the underground megastructure.
The deep dry storage of the Silos, the putrid sewers of the Pipeworks, the haunted piers of Habitation. Each area will require adaptation to new obstacles and denizens.

Fun to be using the fast hand-to-eye coordination for something other than clicking heads in an FPS. Where other games would try and tie character animations to the climbing and thus limit themselves, White Knuckle doesn't and instead focused on making the traversal feel truly free. Your movement limits are just within what seems feasible. The way your "climbing" movement slows down as you stretch yourself to try and reach the next ledge conveys your human form as good as any visual. There's real satisfaction of getting into a movement flow, more than I'd ever felt in Mirror's Edge. There's clear inspiration from HL1. The atmosphere with an announcer echoing through the large structure. To the unfiltered and limited palette textures. But it also twists the levels into dream-like ascends that makes you wonder what all this was built for. Basically it hits the mark in making you want to explore further on top of having uniquely fun movement. So far the first 2000m was a 10/10 experience.

i had a strange obsession with this game before i even played it. i'd see short form content and for whatever reason always take just a little look, and after i caved and bought the game i fell in love. then i found out the creator was also a trans girl and it made sense why i of al people gravitated towards this game
more scary than outlast

LADDER IS PEAK BOSSFIGHT
really cool game but lost interest fast. would be enjoyable if it had a casual mode with permanent checkpoints to reach new areas without wasting time replaying old ones.
