Whimsy Bake＆Craft

Another game that needs a neutral option. It's cute and has some gorgeous sprite art and detailed character designs. The decorating aspect seems quite good and there are a variety of decoration options to choose from. The game isn't bad, but it is missing a bunch of basic QOL options that other idle games have which will definitely be dealbreakers for people. The main one is that there is not comparable offline progress. You can have one station making some offline progress and nothing else, so you need to keep the game running in the background if you want to collect resources or make any baking progress. The tutorial is confusing and manages to over and under explain all the mechanics. You can only review the basic tutorials, but if you accidentally skipped an explanation of something else like the fridge, you're out of luck. Lastly, baked good go bad in IRL time, though since you can’t properly leave this to idle offline, it’s a huge issue since you’ll be checking this quite often. I personally did not like that I could not turn of the typing effect on the dialogue. The text starts at the middle of the speech bubble and spreads out to the sides, which I found very uncomfortable to read. It also lacks the ability to click the text box and see all the text, instead skipping to the next line of dialogue. Ultimately it works as an idler game and delivers on the cute sprite art, but don’t buy it unless you’re okay with the lack of QOL.
