What Remains of Edith Finch

Je regrette un peu d’avoir acheté ce jeu. Je ne veux vraiment pas être négative, mais je vais être honnête : je regrette d’avoir dépensé 18 € pour… ça. Peut-être que c’est moi qui n’ai pas bien compris le jeu ? Quand j’ai vu les reviews et certains YouTubeurs qui ont carrément pleuré devant celui-ci, je me suis dit : « Il faut que je le teste. » Eh bien… j’aurais peut-être dû m’abstenir. 😭 Alors, la 3D, les ambiances sonores, les décors, les voix off, etc., sont vraiment super bien faits. Techniquement, le jeu est très réussi. Il propose aussi différents types de gameplay, ce qui est plutôt chouette. Mais l’histoire… pfff. Peut-être que je l’ai mal comprise ? Mais je ne comprends vraiment pas comment certaines personnes ont carrément pleuré devant ce jeu. Huh ? Bref, ce n’est pas un mauvais jeu, loin de là. Mais oh mon dieu… 18 €, c’est vraiment trop cher pour ce que c’est.

I'll admit, the game is genuinely novel, but that novelty wore off about halfway through. Maybe it's because I went in blind with no expectations for this genre, so it took until the Lewis segment for me to finally grasp what kind of story was being told. And even after finishing it, I still couldn't tell you what it was trying to say. The story feels like it has no real background. Well, it sort of does, but not really. It also has no ending. Well, it actually has one, and a pretty good one at that. I just don't get why anyone would want to tell this story. It feels too far removed from reality. I can see it has its audience, but I'm clearly not part of it. That said, the gameplay is genuinely refreshing, and I'd still recommend it, as long as you pick it up at a decent discount. Full price? I'd think twice.
