Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1/day in the week to Aug 26 → 1.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews
Combat reminds me of Die by the Sword from the 90's. Challenging at first but feels very satisfying when you get the hang. Strong yes on this one.
The game is dynamic and presents the player with challenging, but fun gameplay. Every time you play, you can feel the love that went into making the game. While it is still in early access, it is easily a complete package as is. IF you like gladiator combat, the thrill of losing all your progress due to a lost shield, or bad swing, this game is right up your alley. Easiest recommendation ever.

I wasn't too sure I was going to like this when I initially played the tutorial and saw what the combat was going to be like. After playing a bit more I'm really enjoying it, super satisfying when you are just slaughtering your foes, slicing them in half, dismembering their heads, whatever it may be. The combat is really rewarding once you get used to it. I'm still on my first character and am very much enjoying all the different mechanics this game offers, I am very much still learning things and how this game works but I'd say if you're looking for something different and a bit innovative I'd give this game a chance.
So, playing this game for almost an hour I did not read any of the reviews in regards of the recent camera changes. Man is it bad, I feel like 90% of the time I am looking at the ground and trying to fight the camera instead of the enemy. However, the game will go places if this is fixed. 3rd person and legacy camera needs adjustments before I can recommend this game. This game is fun, combat is fun. But the camera ruins the combat.
We Who are About to Die is a game unlike any other I've played. It combines rogue-like elements with a really fun physics-based combat system. The developer is obviously incredibly invested in the project and has been working on it for 10+ years in some capacity. Folks that are calling the game abandon-ware are not in the discord and aren't familiar with the process of game development. I've had a ton of fun with this game and can't wait for 1.0.
Man i really like this game, but i have experienced more frustration than anything and the only reason i come back to this game is the fact its a gladiator rogue like. The combat is so punishing in the worst way possible, more often than not you will be forced to take trades when you hit because of the rag doll or the ai is just able to rip a swing out as they are being hit (janky physics) which makes no sense, there is no reward for timing hits properly it seems unless its extremely telegraphed and even then you could just get screwed by what i previously stated. Blocking is just the worst thing i have ever seen in any fighting game, you need to track the weapon with your cursor but if they swing that placement changes, so you would logically track your cursor over where the weapon will BE and no, more often than not they just rail your legs or chest and there's nothing you can do a lot of the time blocking wise, hits just connect weirdly chest down and i haven't found an actual way to block these hits properly because of the jank. The personal stamina is.....okay right now but i still don't agree with having a massive stamina tank from being hit, if i think about it logically i would assume you would be more energetic when getting hit as your adrenaline will spike so i really don't understand the massive exhaust from being hit. The stamina on the ai just seems insane still, they just rip like 3 or 4 swings then can dodge and even run at you, even after being hit, its very frustrating and it always feels like the ai has stamina to spare, being able to see how much stamina the ai has would really reduce that mental frustration. The ai decisions are just really weird right now, they back off when you're low and play really passive sometimes and will do the opposite as well and just hit tank for no reason when you're full hp which ends up with a lot of traded hits, i don't feel a proper pattern or logical reasoning to what they decide to do and that translates into frustration because there isnt a pattern it just seems too random. Now arena rng is something that has bothered me ever since the traps and rotating objects were added into the arena rng pool, the traps are just really unwelcome personally and obstruct me from fighting and playing the game generally, i want to fight the opponent and not have to juggle through really annoying traps, i will say the only traps i even remotely enjoy is the rotating platform and maybe the rotating wooden poles idk what its called, also the spikes on the floor need to go im gonna be honest, that one arena where the ENTIRE middle section aka like 75% of the arena is floor spikes, that's gotta go its so bad to play, especially since the ai wont even go near the traps when you're near the pressure plates so you end up in a weird stalling match trying to juggle through the traps. Trying to complete condemned right now seems genuinely impossible, you get so many 1 vs many fights and we all know how that is gonna go, and 1v1 fights where the opponent will be in decent full gear off rip literal first match. Now you add the issue with physics, ai decision making, match rng as well as arena rng and boom you get insane levels of frustration for condemned, and i mean its meant to be the hardest challenge but i am a very decent player and i cant even remotely get by because of how inconsistent everything feels. Side note and minor gripe I am begging, add a option to remove the heartbeat sound, i understand its there to add a sense of fear or anxiety but trust me the game does that well on its own and the heartbeat sound is just insanely frustrating, it just seems like noise pollution, its distracting and it really is just an overstimulating sound and makes me very frustrated. Also people who play very stressful games in general aren't really affected by the heartbeat sound in the way its intended to induce fear or anxiety, its just annoying and polluting. I'm leaving this as a negative review because this game has something special, a solid dev team with passion and a unique game that IS fun but can be very annoying, and i want the devs to see this review as well as newcomers so they can get a good sense of what the game is like and i DO recommend this game.
The game is dead no updates since November they got the money and Run.
If you enjoy Mounted Blade, Kingdom Come Deliverance, or Chivalry for the hand to hand combat... then you'll love this game too. People saying this has no replay value, or that it was too easy... Didn't spend 5 minutes to read and understand the screen in front of them. There are multiple stories to choose from, with perks for completing them. There are also multiple difficulty levels, from stupid easy hack and slash to picking your strategy carefully. Oh and it loads extremely fast, which is actually pretty satisfying. This game has tons of potential, very impressive for a small team.
As a gamer and game developer I needed to submit my review for this masterpiece! Instead of focusing on super polished graphics, this game focuses in a super interactive, balanced and enjoyable gameplay. I finished my first run easily at the medium level, while at the hardest I only lasted 3 battles! No fights are worthless, while each one can give you precious money, reputation, traits or, sometimes, even weapons. I would give this game an honest 10 out of 10, as this had been one of the only ones I could enjoy playing for long hour sessions.
dev forgot about his game been stale since nov
