Never picked up anything 40k. Know nothing about the lore. But this game is making me a fan of it. Heavy on the dialogue, but also teaches you as you go. Its also heavy on combat. you're surrounded by 30 enemies to 6 characters, and you are the danger. Tom Cruise says buy it.

Despite the generally glowing reviews for this game, a game I wanted to like given my long history with CRPGs (back to BG1 release), I did not enjoy it. It is hard to place exactly why other than it just felt excessively derivative, both in the story and gameplay, as well as feeling clunky. This is a vague review, yea, but sometimes a game can check all the boxes and still be a thumbs down.
This game has tons of complexity but keeps you moving. I greatly enjoy the momentum system so you do not require pre-buffs like their Pathfinder games. I only wish this game had a bit more voice acting as at times it feels like you're reading a wall of text before being allowed to take an action. I'll also note this game s HEAVY to run compared to others and rails my PC for 4k 60 FPS. Would be nice to see some optimization here in their up-coming Dark Heresy game. Overall this is a enjoyable game and the integration of a mod manager to use toybox allows for a very customizable experience. Combat is great with a balanced party, great graphics, and an interesting story.
Coming from Baldur's gate 3, you'll be a little disappointed in the animations and world interaction opportunities. That said, if you like the warhammer universe, and like a good CRPG, this is a great game with infinite opportunities to make bad decisions. 8.6/10 would recommend
Si tu aimes baldur's gate et les crpg au tour par tour, ce jeu est fait pour toi. Quels sont ses défauts: beaucoup de lecture et peu de mise en scène, des stats parfois compliquées à comprendre, c'est long (35h et j'ai l'impression d'être au début). Quels sont ses qualités: son lore, ses choix, c'est jolie, c'est long (tu en as pour ton argent), des compagnons très divers et bien écrit. Bref, c'est très bon.
Incredible game. Easily the most fun I've had with a video game in years!
