highly ambitious but repetitive, extremely janky and unpolished, there's fun to be have but keep your expectations REALLY low

This is a blood bath.
I'm very confused by the positive reviews for this game. I've spent a couple of hours "playing" it; to say it's an unfinished game is being generous. I have really tried to like it because I appreciate the huge scale and all the options, but I cannot in good conscience recommend this game. The UI is maybe one of the worst I've ever seen in a video game, and I'm used to playing old indie PC games with lots of jank. I think the devs are very ambitious and I appreciate that but the basics of just moving and shooting are incredibly clumsy. You cannot enter a tent in your own base without crouch-jumping and hoping the physics carries you correctly. It takes multiple minutes to cross a short river. Character models die but stay visible in an upright position; you'll spawn into areas with friendly soldiers immediately T-posing on the ground in death animations; you will get shot and killed with no audio cues. You wouldn't see this in a low-budget PS1 game. Again, I applaud the small dev team for their ambition, but this is an incredibly flawed game with very little upside.
Peak game, needed some tweaks with the graphics but it was worth it!
Definitely watch to see if the game gets more stability patches or bug fixes, instead of an expansion to another location. I like the game personally but it definitely needs work. It was already a huge undertaking to cover the entirety of Vietnam, now there's a portion of the US and Siberia, it's not really inspiring confidence in anything getting cleaned up, particularly considering the creator intended for the game to remain in early access for only "12-24 months." Much more time is needed, unless the creator can get some serious assistance to track down and fix the various bugs, stability, and optimization issues.
Wow, this game has scope and it lives up to it, constant improvements and the sheer amount of variation you're allowed in playstyle, from a lowly machine gunner to an ace chopper pilot, this is the best war simulation I have ever played
Currently one of my favorite games. Janky, ugly, you can feel the game coming apart at the seams, but my god, it has got to be one of the most endearing, ambitious, bizarre, and fascinating games I've ever played. Despite all the jank, it is very immersive, and packed with an absolutely immense amount of detail no AAA developer outside of Rockstar would bother to integrate. Just give it time, and I feel pretty confident it will reward you with a truly unique gaming experience.
