Juegazo
What absolute nonsense. Spent 20 minutes after the tutorial wandering an obtuse map (you get an airship and can immediately fly to like, 10 different locations, EXCEPT they're all skill locked so you gotta guess which one to go to first) and after 20 minutes I finally MAYBE got the right location, and then? Garbage platforming and three whole one-tap enemies. Do not.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Vernal Edge done. 2nd run, the first time I arrr it and got so horribly lost that I abandoned it. Game was hard even on Normal, it has an excellent combat system but you'll fail a lot until mastering it. Fungal Mines' song made me buy it and try it again. Painful, 7/10. Okay so why a 7? Because I liked it, but the platforming is sometimes really painful. Combat is super fun and the spells/memories management is great, exploration is rewarded, but some rewards from some challenges are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Music wise? I don't like some, that's normal, but I absolutely LOVE others, specially Fungal Mines, one of the best songs I've ever heard on a metroidvania + when you're in combat the music changes, that earns a lot of points and cheers from me. I really would've liked something to help me find the secrets, something that would beep when near one or something because damn, I really, REALLY wanted to nurture that flower... I lost many secrets as well seeing the achievements, shame, I explored a lot. That said, I recommend the game if you're looking for a fun metroidvania with lots of exploration, a cool lore that I enjoyed and man I love Vernal, I love her rudeness, I love how she takes ♥♥♥♥ from no one but still has a soft side. Her reasons are valid, her hate is unlimited. Support the developers of Vernal Edge and enjoy, steam sale is coming soon so grab an indie or two.
I was on the line to upvote or downvote this game. 4 hours in I had a moment where I was about to rage quit and stop playing. I wasn’t liking the game up to that point. I kept playing and by 6 hours I was feeling that this game is okay. Just enough to not downvote it. The worst part of the game by far is the combat. The combat feels soft and the attacks don’t have much weight behind it is the best way I can describe it. I never felt like I was getting stronger. Everything takes so many hits. Locked in a room with the same enemies again and again and again. There are a bunch of special moves but only one seemed to be useful. 2/3 though the game I got an item that healed me when I beat an enemy which helped a lot. Over halfway through the combat got really boring. I had enough health so I wasn’t dying, Just long fights. “Oh I’m trapped in a room with a bunch of enemies. I haven’t seen this for almost 20 seconds.” When you die you go back to the last save and lose everything. I once lost 30 minutes because I couldn’t find a save point and ran into a horde of enemies. I really don’t like when games do that. Make me lose money or something. I don’t like how you have to find a map for each area. A few times I was lost because I didn’t have a map at first. The one good thing is each area is walled off with the ability needed to be used on the island. You land and see you don’t have the wall jump. So you don’t get halfway through and get stuck. Except for one late game island. I can’t remember the last time I played a game where I just hated the main character. She’s a rude brat with daddy issues. She’s mean to everyone she meets, even the ones helping her. The best part of the game is one time I read a sign and MC said “I can’t read”. Early in the game she said that she couldn’t read so it’s a neat touch late in the game you try to read a sign and you can’t.
I dunno, maybe the tutorial level just gave me a poor first impression - I didn't have any good attitude towards the game while playing. Combat is really spongey - with heavy reliance on just emptying your meters every time they build up. There's some moves you can do with basic combat, but they just pale against the health melting effects of your sword abilities and spell bombs. The charge attack being the primary focus to break shields, followed by spell/sword combos - it just felt tiresome after constantly repeating it. And why wouldn't I - it worked every time. Story is...whatever - typical doomsday, messiah complex BS. Sorta felt like the exaggerated anime style in the cutscenes undercut the gravity in mood. You just can't feel grief when the character has a single big teardrop hanging off their eyes. The open world map with the floating islands was an interesting concept. I just felt the execution wasn't very interesting. The dungeons always felt so empty for some reason. And the underverse, or whatever it was called, is only ever used to reach islands? Really? Nothing interesting inside the mirror dimension? Oh well. Very shallow metroidvania. Maybe check it out on sale. ---- Really lame that during the final battle, the boss died before my ultra meter could even charge. Boss was still sorta challenging, but you didn't even hype it up with an ultra attack? You go with anime art, but not the pacing? So weak.
