This game was a mixed bag, but I'll still recommend playing - twice (one to get all but one of the achievements, and the other to get the remaining one). The game gives you the least bit of indications on where your objective (or what for that matter). It also gives sort of free rein to just roam around as a bird for a most of the time (should you choose so). The game world and the events appears to be a metaphor or symbolism (which mostly went over my head). The graphics though are a different thing altogether. They are... unique. It's well made but doesn't give you the impression some times. The generation of environment due to the player actions is quite something the first few times, but you get used to it. I loved the way they had pulled out animating the movement of birds flying (the player character) to an unnatural degree (except for the landing ones or the stallilng ones). You will see other NPC birds moving along a line slowly when trying to land and wonder what the hell happened to their animations. The camera angles spoil a lof of the fun and can make you mis-judge things too. It's not fixed in most cases, but is not well functional in most cases. You think you got the hang of it, but trust me - you won't. There are other bugs in the game that appear at times but nothing that breaks the game. I chose to follow a guide and I'm glad I did that. I didn't want to spend hours and hours searching around trying to figure out what to do. There's not a lot of landmarks nor stuff to do which can lead you to drop this game very early, very easily. Oh, and they could have added trading cards too. - 6/10

Really interesting game that deserves more attention , it does not hold your hand and you have to figure out what to do yourself , 7/10 very unique short game.
no se, pero esta bueno
Artistically and conceptually Vane has a lot going for it, and ended up being more or less what I expected. Rough as it is, and understandably so, due to the studio releasing it prematurely due to running out of money. It has the bones of a classic, underrated, silent ICO-style puzzle-exploration adventure. If you are patient and can bear that last missing 10% of polish in the bird landing mechanics, quality-of-life, walking speed, and those subtle hints that could have made it really-really stand out, then I think it's worth your time. The flying and scenery (and that overwhelming feeling of freedom and wonder) can be beautiful at times, and I wish they'd done more with the calming bird parts mechanically, maybe more of a 50/50. But the human puzzles in the middle part are also well done. The rolling parts overstay their welcome a little bit, but surprised me. -- Things I think could be better; the closed loop storyline, which is a common trope and can be seen from a mile away, dark, samey, byzantine levels in the latter part where you need to implicitly fly and scout around until you understand the layout and the right order of sequence without getting lost. This wouldn't be so bad, and it may add to the experience at points, without the contrasty HDR film filter that makes your surroundings hard to read depending on how you move the camera. I think they could have reduced the visual clutter mostly to subtly signal the player there is nothing you can really do in some direction. Or adding more visual landmarks, and a way to stay in place instead of always gliding forward. -- I like how mechanics are implicit and Vane asks you to experiment, tighter levels would have made it more meaningful, to avoid wasting some time going into dead ends. If with all those caveats you liked ICO, Journey or The Last Guardian, this game is for you.
Vane is a visually stunning game 😊. You play as a young girl who can merge with and control wind, exploring a surreal world filled with abandoned structures and weird creatures. The game's got a unique atmosphere, with beautiful graphics and a haunting soundtrack. Pros: Breathtaking Visuals: The game's art style is mesmerizing, with stunning landscapes Innovative Mechanics: Using wind to solve puzzles and interact with the environment is super cool Emotional Storyline: The game's narrative's subtle but impactful, focusing on themes of loss and growth Cons: Some Frustrating Puzzles: A few puzzles can be kinda obscure or hard to figure out Short Length: The game's relatively short, might leave you wanting more Slow Pacing: The game's more about exploration and atmosphere, might not be for action fans Rating: 7.5/10
UW Support - ✅ I admit this game is pretty! Down to the vast landscapes, the thrumming of devices and the different environmental effects seen throughout the game are wonderful. The gameplay in itself is servicible and the quality control for this game is lacking. There's no way to reset the game if need be. There are moments where I found myself clipping through walls and terrains especially with the last section where
you wear the mask and are able to affect the terrain
. The game in itself is also a very esoteric one, where trying to figure out what clicks and what doesn't. What area of the map is optional and not. It's been years since this game came out but it's definitely a skip for such a lacking game.
This game had so much going in for it for me. The first few levels kept me intrigued with their lovely visuals and music. And then the final level broke numerous times, alongside a very questionably designed final ascent. I liked it for what I enjoyed, but in the end it is all spectacle, and unfortunately the gameplay couldn't hold out until the end. I wish I could give this a side-ways thumb, but there are jarring issues that remain neglected and unfortunately dampen the experience as a whole. So sad to see this sullied by questionable design choices and broken gameplay elements.
I always assumed this game was well recognized. When I looked up the reviews I was shocked to see how few there are. Visually this is one of the most insane games I have ever played. Nothing before or after ever reached this style and atmosphere. The open-ended exploration and confidence the game has in the player to get lost and find their way is executed super well. Rarely do you get to play a game where you really feel like there are no level boundaries and finding something hidden far away is a breath of fresh air. It has the atmosphere and mood of an indie classic, and for me it will always be one.
