Reviews
Do you like Links Awakening? Minish Cap? Pipistrello and the cursed Yoyo? Then you should play this game. It has fun dungeons and some honestly unique puzzle items and uses for old items that make you go, "Man that is neat more people should do that."
Fun and very enjoyable Zelda like game. Developer team has put a lot of effort into crafting the world and puzzles and it shows. Played through game native so play time is off but it took about 20 or so hours. Fully recommend - it will scratch that Zelda itch nicely.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

So the story of this game is explained rather quickly. Girl has to move to a remote island, finds herself in a weird temple, then has to save the world somehow. Anyhow, what matters is the gameplay anyways. And that is quite good - most of the time. Some enemy types are very annoying to deal with or have simply a way too high damage output - I'd love to see the devs balancing them further. The dungeons themselves are quite fun and yes, they do come with the usual Zelda-like features like small keys, maps, compass (Although it's named differently; same functionality tho).. I like the overworld design a lot, often times there are much-needed shortcuts and there is also a handy fast travel system. I would recommend this game to anyone who loved Zelda ALttP or Minish Cap.
Under the Island is good. Not great, but good - I thoroughly enjoyed my time with this game, short as it was, and despite my problems with it. It's a charming, well-paced, classic style action adventure game made in the vein of Link to the Past, with great graphics, music, and tons of charm. That said, the story, while promising at the start, completely peeters out at the end, with a very weak ending, and the cast aren't interesting enough to carry it. And as for the gameplay, it was mostly fine, with the exception of the boss in the water facility dungeon. That ♥♥♥♥ felt unintuitve and very frustrating. That and enemies towards the end take a little too much damage before they die while dealing a LOT of damage to you. Not a deal breaker, but more annoying than anything. Not sure about getting this game at full price, but definitely worth grabbing on sale.
This the best Zelda game I've played since Tunic.
I grew up during the NES and SNES days, so I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for modern games who pay homage that era by providing an experience that is closer what we remember those games being like than the original games actually provided. This one is clearly inspired by early Zelda games, especially Zelda III: A Link To The Past, except it's set in a cartoon version of the real modern world, where magic and talking animal (or even plant) people and monsters are not exactly everyday things but they're not fictional and most people seem to realize they exist and it's common enough to run into them. The game centers on a young teenage girl who arrives at a small town on an island because her parents plan to spend a year as researchers studying the local ruins for their college, and basically out of sheer boredom she ends up becoming the go-to girl for the townsfolk's errands and adventuring needs, including some magical goings-on tied to the ruins her parents are studying and were left behind by an ancient race of bird people. Though this one isn't the first "girl stars in Zelda III-style game but set in a more modern real-like world" game I've played in recent years, since games like Arietta of Spirits and The Girl From Arkanya come immediately to mind, this one is probably the one that, gameplay-wise, feels the closest to the Zelda III experience while still managing to retain its own identity and doing its own unique things. I especially enjoyed that, though the first dungeon was functionally a Zelda III dungeon in every respect (map, key, special item, etc) except for the location (a greenhouse), the boss fight was actually a story-centered sequence where you had to prevent some groupies from getting to the stage while a singer performed with her band. The trailer made it seem like creative gameplay sequences like that one will be a common theme as the story progresses, so I'm looking forward to beating the game.
Really cute Zeldalike, fun puzzles and exploration. The world is fun and cute, the story is fine, and the music, art, and presentation is really well done. I'm not completely blown away by this one, it feels like it doesn't bring anything unique to the formula, but as someone who can play games like this all day every day, this is a top notch indie Action/Adventure title
