Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.11/day in the week to Aug 4 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Play as Umihara Kawase, a young adventurer armed with a fishing lure attached to a stretchy, rubber-like rope, in this one-of-a-kind puzzle platformer.
Hook onto walls and ceilings, then use the line's elasticity to swing, bounce, and launch yourself through each stage. There's rarely just one way forward - experiment with your surroundings, forge your own routes where no path exists, and master increasingly advanced movement techniques as you progress through the stages.
Along the way, reel in the strange fish that stand in your way and put your skills to the test across stages that reward creativity, precision, and practice.
Simple to pick up but incredibly deep to master, Umihara Kawase combines action and puzzle elements that challenge you to figure out a variety of possible routes. The rewarding process of mastering techniques through ingenuity and repeated practice offers surprising depth that reveals itself the more you play!
This is the essence of "Rubbering Action"!

That game is really sick After 100%ing it, I feel very satisfied It's a game that asks you to know how to play it, very well, to complete it, you're not gonna do it with just luck It's a really well made platformer, with rubber hook physics that is hard to believe comes from the SNES (even if apparently on it it caused lag, which isn't there) I know that if I knew about this game as a kid I would have obsessed on it and played it over and over Now I'm gonna wait a bit and try to complete the other ones later The only thing I dislike is the enemy spawn, in levels you'll have enemies that will always be there, and sometimes enemies that will spawn not too far from you. In this game it can be extremely aggressive depending on the level and on how many enemies you already fished, sometime spawning 2 or 3 enemies near you while you're in a tight area in 2 seconds, giving you no chance to do anything about it (hooking the enemies without fishing them will stun then, but it's kinda impossible to do that while you have 2 or 3 of them really close to each others) If you like platformers and learning how to be good at a game, give this one a try, some jumps will make you lose your mind but learning them will give you what you need to overcome other levels (except field 42, idk what it is with that one but it's its own kind of bs) Review after getting 1 ending (3.1h) :Got my ass kicked on this one, went to play Shun, then went back to this one (after also getting my ass kicked in Shun) It's "hard", because you have to learn how to play platformers again, but once you (think you) figured it out it's really fun and smooth There's a practice mode that is really cool to have, game has lots of tricks so it's nice to have some way to try the hard/risky ones without having to throw away a run The lack of dedicated buttons for throwing in diagnonals is kinda sad but I guess it wasn't in the original SNES version so ok fair enough

Harder than Dark Souls.
Genuinely one of the greatest game ever made. I just despise some floors with all my soul but that's ok.
Interesting platformer game.
Women want me Fish fear me I now fear crabs and tadpole 2s (those stages are really bad but the game is otherwise good)
Some games just make me question my entire existence.
I know this game comes from the age of "Who cares if we make our games too hard?" but this game's potential feels a little squandered on its difficulty. That might also come from the grappling hook feeling wonky to control. When it works it's pretty fun, but it's very hard to get the hang of it. I didn't beat Umihara Kawase, and I would probably be nicer to it, if it wasn't for the tadpole "boss fight". What this consists of is a long and boring waiting game where a giant tadpole walks back and forth across the level. When it goes up you eliminate the frogs it spawns which is mildly engaging, but after that you go and grapple under the cliff of the arena and wait for the tadpole to come all the way down, and then start walking back up. This repeats four or five times before it finally goes away. This same boss fight gets reused for the sequel, by the way.
