4/10 A TBS/CCG game in the setting of a university student's life. Good: - free - the combat system reminds Darkest Dungeon. But you have 1 unit instead of 4. There are 3 slots on each side instead of 4. And the abilities you can use are determined by the cards on hand. And those cards are pulled randomly from your deck So-so: - music is okay - graphics style and quality varies across the screens and the game elements. About half of the images actually look like stubs. A few are very detailed (e.g. the map of the university campus) and were probably just taken from somewhere Bad: - there is no tutorial or explainations. I did manage to understand the combat part, more or less. But there is also the "studies" part which is so abstract that it's hard to guess without instructions. There are different types of numbers you accumulate for the cards but what they mean and where they come from is unclear. It's borderline schizophrenic actually :) There is a silly minigame during "studies" where you just need to press Space at the right moment to get some points which you then spend on cards. I never understood how the cards are chosen for the deck. The overall game progress is also unclear. Like, there are "semesters" - what that means I dunno.. A hobby project of some student I figure. Without instructions it's tedious to get through. And the poor and stylistically incompatible graphics don't really give much motivation. The first step here must be to add a tutorial, preferably step-by-step.
