About
Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts aims to be the first game of its kind - a true naval warfare game - which offers a unique opportunity to design and build countless variations of realistic looking warships combined with an extremely in-depth and realistic combat model. We are absolutely excited with what we are making and we hope everyone who is interested about the dreadnought era and naval warfare, will join our ambitious project and support us.
BUILD THE BATTLESHIPS THE WAY YOU WANT
Become the architect of powerful warships, from small torpedo boats to mighty Battleships! Recreate famous ships such as the HMS Dreadnought and countless speculative designs. Pick turret layout, armor scheme, funnel placement, tower variations making each ship look and feel unique. Their hull characteristics, internal upgrade selection and weight distribution not only modifies their speed and maneuverability but also their weapon effectiveness. Every design detail of your warships has a significant effect on the combat capability of your ships.
STRONG AI
Naval combat becomes immersive and feels even more realistic when your opponent is able to react to your actions with a human-like and unexpected behavior. The AI evaluates the optimal engagement distance, using principles of the “Immunity Zone” and comparing its own firepower versus your ships. The AI uses ammunition wisely, holding fire when necessary or switching shell types according to the armor protection of the target. Unless there is a special mission directive, the AI will not act suicidally and will attempt to withdraw, if its fleet becomes heavily damaged or it is much weaker than yours.
NAVAL ACADEMY & CUSTOM BATTLES
The Custom Battle system allows you to experiment and enjoy naval battles utilizing endless combinations of ship designs in technology eras between the years 1890 and 1950 for ten different nations. Additionally, there is the “Naval Academy” which currently includes 63 battle scenarios, where you will have to design a ship or a squadron to fulfill a certain combat tactical task. These numerous missions will allow you to practice and enjoy the many innovative design and combat aspects of the game.
THE CAMPAIGN
You can fully design your fleet, immerse yourself in epic naval battles and make crucial strategic decisions on the map with a single goal to defeat your opponents by annihilating their fleets and strangling their economy. The map includes necessary historical and strategic aspects that can simulate actual facts of the period 1890-1940.

The video on the store page that plays by default does not represent the in game builder at all. Seeing the game abandoned by the devs is extremely frustrating, there was so much work left to be done and I was looking fowards to the game getting better rounded and feature complete. Wish I could get a refund but the dooky ship builder managed to waste too much time. Going to go buy Navalart instead
This is a DEAD GAME. The devs abandoned this game in an unfinished state at the end of 2024. It's a shame, there isn't anything quite like it out there. I really love this game, and it would've been amazing if it were ever finished, but I cannot in good conscience recommend it to anyone. It's playable, though pretty non-intuitive and frustrating. The ship designer lacks the hull designer shown in all their advertising media, you can only place components on top of historical hulls to design your ships. Placing components anywhere but where the game wants you to is nigh impossible (though can be done with enough finagling), so most ships you make look exactly like the historical ship the hull was based on. The enemy AI does not have this problem, and comes up with all kinds of abominations for you to fight that rarely work effectively and are never as good as player designs. Enemy ships tend to be less accurate and less survivable than player designed ships, making ships that should be contemporaries or even better than what the player can make easy to dispatch. The campaign mode is an amazing concept executed poorly. the whole political system makes no sense and always snowballs into global conflict that never ends. It's basically a game of constantly asskissing every other country you're not at war with so they all don't dogpile you. I do like how the army (that you have no control over because you're the head of the navy) fights on land automatically and can even capture provinces, but there is no way coordinate with them. Attacking enemy fleets on the map is very difficult unless they are blockading you and not moving, You have to either bring your ships out to blockade waterways using their circles of control and hope they sail into you (this is never really explained and only kinda works), or leave your fleets in port, set them to sea control on the fleet menu and hope the game generates the encounter you want (it never does). As of the last update, it made training more sailors more expensive and slower, making manpower the limiting factor of having a large fleet instead of money, industrial base, or port space. The actual gameplay is OK. Sometimes escort ships using the auto escort functions run themselves head on into enemy fire and kill themselves, but this was something that they actually (mostly) fixed before abandoning the game. The visibility stats of player ships are always much higher than the enemy ships ( IDK if it's just how the AI designs their ships or if they get an artificial buff to their reconnisance), so the enemy always seems to spot you first. While realistic, it's very frustrating when the enemy has a ship that's either the same speed or faster than you and just runs away, making you have to wait for the end game timer to pop up. Without the time compression, battles take a very long time, and the closer you are to the enemy, the less time compression you can use. This means if you wind up chasing an enemy that has the same top speed, you have to either get lucky and score a hit that damages their propulsion (which is very unlikely because you're at top speed and the target is also moving fast), or you have to wait even longer for the end battle option to pop up. This happens more often than you would think, especially after you defeat a country's heavy units and they only have destroyers and torpedo boats left. The campaign continues to generate encounters where you can't catch them, but you can't skip because they'll destroy your merchant ships (which can lead to an economic death spiral). All in all, this game is a missed opportunity. Its not even that far off from being good and done. There aren't a lot of games centered around the Dreadnaught Era of history, and this could've been a great one. While the modding scene definitely makes the game better and fixes a lot of the issues, as consumers we shouldn't be encouraging devs to abandoned projects 3/4s of the way through.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

So close yet so far... I'm torn that there are no more updates. Its still fun yet so incomplete. Perhaps it'll be better on the next one boys. :'(
Sadly this absolutely great concept was implemented by devs that suffered under a horrible combination of lack of foresight, time stress and sometimes surprisingly low coding skills. This makes the game barely enjoyable when heavily modded and largely unplayable without. Especially as the final version includes a save game breaking bug which is only fixable by downloading a mod. The problem with modding is that some things are unchangeable and fundamentally broken, e.g. the Penetration Calculation.....
It's really unfortunate. They completely failed to understand what the users wanted, went in the wrong direction with the updates, and eventually abandoned the game. It's unbelievable that they created a game like this with such a perfect concept.
I like this game but I wish there was Aircraft Carriers and planes it would make it more fun! And there was bigger Main guns example a 22 or 31 inch main gun think that would make it more fun thank you for reading and have a great day!
Autism.
ITS IS A GOOD GAME AS I MADE A DESTOYER AS THE BBRITISH AND BLEW UP A ITALIAN BATTLESHIP BUT I WISH THEY ADDED AIRCRAFT CARRIERS AND MADE MULTIPLAYER FREE AS MY FRIENDS WANTED TO BUY IT UNTIL THEY FOUND OUT THAT MULTIPLAYER WAS PAYED AND THEY DIDNT WANT IT ANYMORE
Could've been one of the greatest games ever but it's just a broken mess
