Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.57/day in the week to Aug 14 → 1.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Tyranny is a mid CRPG. Where the game shines isn't that important to me. I enjoy theorycraft and customization which this game lacks. The limited and uninspired companions are also disappointing. I hate to say this because a game's greatness is not defined by budget, but you can really feel this game's low production quality. The bottom line is neither the story or gameplay hooked me enough to continue.
A great RPG with a fascinating setting that suffers slightly from dull/repetitive combat
The most interesting thing about Tyranny is its setting. Instead of being the chosen one out to save the world, you're a high-ranking official in a brutal, conquering regime, and it's your duty to act as judge, jury, and executioner as you see fit, to carry out the will of Overlord Kyros. The game gives you quite some leeway in how you solve problems, and you can be as brutal or lenient (or even traitorous) as you want. In true Obsidian style, there are multiple factions to ally with or betray, and many of the choices you make throughout the game determine where the story goes and how it ends. If you've played any isometric RPG with real-time-with-pause combat (Baldur's Gate, Pillars of Eternity, etc.), you'll be in familiar territory. There are some interesting differences, however. In addition to leveling up as you gain experience points, each character has a set of skills that improve with use or through training. The most interesting twist, however, is the spell creation system, which has you combining root elements with various effect sigils. Even better, you can upgrade your existing spells by swapping in more powerful sigils as you find them and also by adding even more effects as your Lore skill improves throughout the game.

Unfortunately, the game (on the default difficulty level anyway) becomes unbelievably easy not even halfway through the game. You automatically heal in between fights, and all abilities/spells are on countdown timers, so there is no resource management whatsoever; there's no reason why you shouldn't use all of your abilities one after another in every single battle, and so every battle ends up feeling pretty much the same just a few hours into the game. One other minor negative is that the dialogue feels at odds with the setting. It's an intriguing and dark setting, but some of the dialogue from members of both major factions (including their leaders) is very juvenile and edgy; it's a shame, because it can really detract from the game at times.

Luckily, the point of the game is not combat but instead exploring the setting, making choices, and seeing what happens. It is definitely worth putting up with some dull combat to play through such an entertaining game, and I could definitely see myself playing through it again and making different choices. Highly recommended.
oui
Es un buen juego, con una gran historia.
Though it feels a bit lacking and incomplete towards the end, the good writing and amount of player choice makes this short RPG a fun one to replay a couple times
The one of the kind cRPG.
*Tyranny* is the only RPG franchise to grasp that evil often wins — not through force, but through administration. You embody a bureaucratic appendage of an already victorious totalitarian regime. No salvation quest, just the management of obedience and cynical navigation through hierarchies rotten to the core. Its moral choices aren’t binary: they’re all rotten, all costly, and always monitored. Even your power is constrained by magical oaths, verbal chains, pacts sealed with blood and syntax. Everything is compromise, consequence, progressive corruption. No heroes, only rhetorically skilled opportunists. In short, a lucid political simulator. A gem for those who know real tyranny doesn’t wear black armor — it signs decrees.
