About
This is Tyr, a tank shooter where positioning, strategic decision-making, and mastery of unique abilities win.
Tyr features a roster of specialized armored vehicles and pilots. You’ll take control of treaded and hover tanks alike as you angle & position for defense, and rumble and glide across the battlefield.
Each vehicle also offers its own tech tree and ammo & component slots, affording you the ability to upgrade and evolve your ride to suit your playstyle. You may even be able to change up your vehicle’s unique keystone tech to dynamically alter your personal meta.
Each vehicle features a unique power that impacts Tyr’s moment-to-moment play on the battlefield. A tank may have the ability to blink several vehicle lengths forward or back, send out a sonar pulse to spot enemies, or overcharge its engine to ram directly into an opponent and deal massive damage.
In Tyr, you and your opponents will only be visible when within range or while making enough noise. Deciding when to push forward and when to fire from cover could mean the difference between staying hidden and revealing your position to the entire enemy team, so play carefully.
Tyr will test your mental mettle, patience, and teamwork, as deliberate play beats whoever can fire the fastest.

This is the biggest sorta recommend. The game is awesome, and by itself would be a complete recommend. The reason I am not 100% on it is due to how their social is. To be in a clan you have to give full control of your discord profile to them. I have many issues with that. I don't want them to change my friends list, access my friends list, see my friends activity, and the other five huge asks they ask for.
As a staunch, chronic PvP hater, I find myself in the strange situation of enjoying a PvP game. The methodical movement, positioning, and forced pauses in a fight due to slow reloads on all sides gives me the chance to actually think during a fight, something I'm rarely given in other games. With no instant-kill attacks, I never find myself very suddenly dead. When I die, I know why. When I lose, I know why. Sure, sometimes it's bad teammates, but often it's me being dumb. Being able to tell what happened and reflect on it lets me actually improve. I recommend this game to anyone with even a passing interest in tanks as a genre of game.

If you like World of Tanks but got tired of the monetization and other BS there just click the download button. For everyone else Tyr is a pvp tank shooter focusing on a slower tactical playstyle compared to other pvp games these days. Premise is simple you pick a tank and play an 8v8 team deathmatch. Game fits in the easy to learn hard to master tag since while there is a lot to learn game has useful guides and ''shoot the green spot'' works most of the time. Game is still fresh and didn't hit 1.0 so its hard to judge it but right now its a fun game to play casually
I played many tanks games throught the years. WoT, WT, Wot heat, armored warfare. Even Blitz1941 from NavyField creators. After 30h in playtest I could say with certainity that this game scratch the same itch that World of Tanks did many years ago before 0.8.5 version. Creators of Tyr you have small masterpice in your hands give it some proper love and marketing, and it will grow as next tank fantasy game-to-go. For now highly recommend with bright future ahead.
This is an amazing game, very fun to play with friends and mess around, be it with us on the same side, or with us trying to kill our friends on the enemy team. 10/10 would recommend picking this game up.
!!! I LOVE THIS GAME !!! but its stuck to 3 player squads in an 8v8. the whole point of a multiplayer game is to play with your friends. i wanna play with my boys but we cant because we have more than 3. up the squad players and its an easy thumbs up.
It's a cool and interesting game. I am not someone who typically enjoys online pvp games, but this one drew me in with its unique style and philosophy, and I was not disappointed. The slower pace really adds an element of strategy and depth. Yet the aspect of pure pvp skill is still there as well, because when you do engage with an enemy, especially close up, there is a a lot of room for skill expression and proficient understanding of the specific tank you are using. The best part is that matches tend to play out very differently depending on the composition of your team. I played three matches just now, all of which were completely different from one another. There was an early objective push by light tanks in the first, which I was able to support. A slow paced sniper battle in the next, that I spent a good three minutes hidden in a bush merely observing. And more of a brawl in the third where I lost a completely fair one on one. In all cases, interesting lessons learned! I can sum up how interesting the battles are by noting that I very often stick around and watch the whole match even if I die early. A few criticisms I have, with the understanding that the game is early access: A few genuinely supportive actions don't show up in the match result screen. Healing as medic. Gaining ammo for the team. And most notably, capturing the enemy objective. It's disappointing to feel that you played a strong role on your team, just see yourself down there at the bottom of the match results, simply because you weren't involved in as much direct engagement. Along similar lines, a more comprehensive stats and stat history page would be nice. Things like overall win rate, win rate by tank / map, and so forth. It would help you know which tanks you are strong with, and find your own weaknesses. I also find it strange that the only option for teammates and comms is through discord? I don't have discord. In fact, I kind of hate discord. So does that just mean silent games with randoms teammates forever for me? That's going to to cap my ultimate progression in, and enjoyment of, the game. Overall, I highly recommend this game if it has piqued your curiosity. Can't beat the price of completely free, after all. Give it a go!
I enjoyed the playtests and even made a clan with friends. We were extremely excited to play in a group when 8 person teams reopened on release. Unfortunately 8 person teams did not reopen when the game released, so we continue to be stuck shuffling around 3 man teams and having odd guild members out. Only opening the team size limit on weekends is crazy.
game lacks content, is super repetitive and the grind scaling is absolutely awful. you can get like 10k silver per day if you get lucky with the gamba and dont get 5x salute packs, cheapest tanks unlocked not via xp are 75k, some are even 300k. creating a clan costs 500k. it just doesnt make any sense. the maps are insanely campy, favoring mostly the camper tanks. barely any place to brawl. the fact the campmobiles have ridiculous penetration and can pen almost anything no matter what doesnt help this either. also, having things locked behind linking to a discord account is super scummy.
I nvr liked the vision mechs from wot so I personally dont enjoy it, you might tho, cool game, very cool tanks, just not a fan of the reliance on team work in a game that has like little to no comms, ye, atleast its 4gb
