Trine 2: Complete Story

As beautiful as the first game is, this one is just stunning. A twelve and a half year old game that looks this good is quite a feat. You don't need me to tell you how stunning it is, as there are plenty of clips and images to show you. It's just breathtaking. In this game all three heroes return. Unlike the first game, I found the thief to be more useful in this entry, which was nice. The banter is sparse but nice when it happens. There was even a point where I was grumbling at the omission of a specific item from the first game, and one of the characters asks the other about it. It was a nice moment of levity. This isn't the type of game you come to for a deep and engaging story, but it's still serviceable. But you're primarily here for the adventure and the gorgeous visuals. Simply put, the game runs great, it's fun, and it's beautiful. I did find a few of the puzzles to be difficult bordering on "WTF do you want me to do?!" and I'm not certain I overcame them in the way the game intended. That's probably the only blemish I had with the game, and it's debatable whether it's poor level design on some of them, or user skill issue. I tend to sum it up as user skill issue, so you may struggle less than I did. Fun game and I look forward to the next three! Thank you for reading.
