The DLSS graphics are a real improvement. I also enjoy the new routed. My only negative feedback is that I really wish there were an option to go back to the dark theme for menus, as pressing pause really burns the retinas at night. In addition, the contrast in the menus is low and difficult to quickly parse. The new light theme, in my opinion, is ugly and makes me nervous about my OLED monitor if I leave it on pause too long.

I've been really enjoying this iteration of TSW. The new features, like freight hauler and automatic guard mode, while beset with some teething problems, are a lot of fun an offer tons of replay value. The new graphics settings are... well, a game changer! If you are having issues with them or aren't getting the performance you are looking for out of your machine, there are a lof of guides out there to help you out (I play on a mid-range PC and it took a bit of shopping around for advice and tweaking to really get the full benefit out of them). Overall, highly recommended: 9/10.
its a great game and very addictive but the guarding on the 331 is broken so they need to fix that over all amazing would recommend
A good game. For the people complaining,It is an early access version so obviously its rough around the edges but when we detract from that the game is a nice progression for 6 and the Epic graphics and enhanced lighting really benefits the experience.Even on my old 3060 it runs a steady ~65FPS and thats with a mix of Epic and Ultra/high graphics options and enhanced lighting.Honestly even if you dont want the new routes do yourself a favour and pick up the free Starter pack to get these graphic improvements which work on older routes too.
Brake release sounds on the 331 are a bit dodgy, but other than that, great addition to the line up
Basing this solely on performance, but they've really gotten rid of the annoying pop-up and with DLSS the framerate has stabilized nicely. It's a great visual bonus from TSW6 and earlier. Even just getting the free version should enhance performance/visuals so it's worth getting from that end. Game has too high of a price for many DLCs/routes and while some are pretty good, some will definitely not be worth the pricepoints. Would only recommend getting most things on sale. Best bang for your buck will be if they run a 80%+ sale on the special edition of TSW6 again, getting heavily discounted versions of TSW 1-5 as those each add three routes. Generally I tend to enjoy the newer routes a bit more as they are a bit more immersive with graphics and announcments, but there's still some duds in the newer routes. Some of the older ones (London Commuter or Blackpool) I still quite like though.
Well, after almost 14 hours of playing, I would say there is progress; they have finally woken up a bit. It's not perfect, but it's... let's say, okay. There are a lot of bugs, like, for example, a red light that never changes to green, no matter if there is an AI train in front of us or not. However, I would like to believe that this is Early Access and they will fix those kinds of bugs asap after the official release, because those kinds of mistakes are not acceptable. The graphics are better than in TSW 6, that's for sure. Finally, we have DLSS – better late than never. Micro-stutters are, I think, a tradition in this game, and we will never get rid of them (bravo, Dovetail! I don't know what your problem is, because we are at the end of 2026, but you are still giving us micro-stutters. You need to study optimization – or what else is wrong?). In general, it's fun to drive a train, especially in Germany, but there is still a lot of work to do to make it perfect.
Isn't released until next week and there's still a couple of bugs. Also only played the US route so far (bought it mostly for the UK one though). I don't have cutting edge hardware, and it does look pretty good on the new Epic graphics preset with frame generation getting me up to about 90-100 fps according to AMD's software. Also the new Freight Hauler mode looks good but I haven't tried it yet.
