For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

good game
The routes provided in this game can be quite fun. I personally have been enjoying the Frankfurt - Fulda line due to its wide variety of timetables that are able to be played. This game does have its drawbacks though. This game still has performance issues where it will stutter and on some routes the framerate is just really poor. It feels like with every new version of the game the performance gets a bit worse, and unfortunately the route I enjoy playing on the most happens to be especially bad for framerate. Sounds on many trains still feel kinda meh or just straight up wrong. Luckily there are easy to install sound mods to help mitigate this but if random railfans are getting better quality train sounds than dovetail, its probably dovetail being lazy. The AI is still pretty stupid. IMO this is more of a minor complaint but considering this is the 5th iteration of the game I would've hoped for AI that does not just spawn in on camera and get stuck on obstacles. Bugs. This game still has bugs. There are still certain scenarios for older DLCs that have not been fixed, and while I understand the need to focus on new content to keep money flowing in, ignoring the blatant issues with existing content and only making new DLCs kinda gives off a vibe of not caring. With this all said, the game can still be quite enjoyable. If you know which routes are worth your time then you can sink some hours into this game and genuinely enjoy yourself. If you're a returning player from previous games, then all your DLC should carry over and you can play any route you've owned. If you are a new player, then I would suggest buying the newest game, TSW 6, as you'll likely get more life out of that game before dovetail pushes out another whole ass game instead of just updating the current one.
Great game I love it :)
A very late review since TSW 6 is out now, but it is an alright game that doesn't feel much different from the previous or the one before that. For me, I find this game to becoming ever more boring and my play time count reflects this by being fewer every release. The DLC seems limited to a certain area in the UK and more so with the announcement of 2 Crewe based routes for TSW 6... how dull and limiting is that? At this rate, I will likely sit TSW 6 out and resume with TSW 5 whenever the mood fancies it.
