Falcom's dedication to player comfort is unrivaled in the industry. They really made a JRPG that has everything you like in the genre (likeable characters, amazing soundtrack, great battle system, nice 2D art), and none of the annoyances (no grind, no drawn out fillers, fast rythm). It's really a game that respects your time as a player, with many QOL things that need to be saluted: - You can save at anytime -You can fast travel almost anytime anywhere -EVERYTHING can be accelerated: battles, cinematics, walking etc. This really should become an industry standard -You can directly start in game from last save. The only game where you click play on the Steam launcher and skip all the loadings and splashscreen to directly get in the action. It's not the most original or unique setting, but it's the comfiest game i've played in a long time: it lets you set the pace and type of your adventure and rewards you in exchange. Looking forward to chapter 2

何よりストーリーが良い！良すぎる！これまでにストーリー見たさに進めたゲームはなかなかありませんでした。セカンドも絶対にプレイします。戦闘モードの切り替えも秀逸。JRPGここにあり！

Really great JRPG. Story is a massive slow burn with no big plot changes for like the first 80% of the game, but it's really well done. Not that surprising considering this is a multi-series JRPG with whole story told in like 8 games. Combat is very fun, you are not forced into turn based combat by some trash 1lvl mob hitting you once, you can choose when you want to initiate or not so no need to farm dozens of hours of trash mob packs for no reason like in some JRPGs to artificially prolong the game. The turn based combat itself is also very good with a lot of options, positioning ,resource managing and very cool looking flashy animations. Quite a lot of re-used assets for NPCs, but all the unique NPCs are well done and voice acted for the most part.
