Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2/day in the week to Jul 30 → 0.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Tornado: Research and Rescue is a storm-chasing game set during the golden age of 1990s tornado research. Read the forecast, track violent storms across Tornado Alley, deploy scientific probes and warn communities before it is too late.
Every chase is different. Forecasts, road networks, towns, tornadoes and destruction are procedurally generated, forcing you to make decisions with limited time and incomplete information. Choose your route, position your equipment and decide how close you are willing to get as the storm evolves around you.
Use Doppler radar and visual clues to locate developing tornadoes, then navigate rural roads to intercept them.
Tornadoes can change direction, grow rapidly and become wrapped in heavy precipitation. What begins as a distant funnel can become a violent, debris-filled wedge cutting off your escape route. Getting close produces better research opportunities - but one wrong turn can place you directly in the path!
Place portable probes ahead of the tornado and attempt to capture measurements from inside the circulation.
Collect data including:
Wind speed
Pressure
Temperature
Dew point
Stronger tornadoes can produce more valuable readings, but reaching their path and escaping safely becomes increasingly difficult. A perfectly positioned probe could fund your next set of upgrades.
Research is only part of the job.
When a tornado threatens a community, issue warnings and give residents time to reach shelter. Your decisions have consequences. A successful chase is not measured only by the data you collect, but by how many people survive the storm.
Experimental atmospheric chemicals allow you to influence a tornado's behaviour.
Release different chemical types to alter properties such as intensity, width and movement. Each tornado responds differently, so every experiment requires observation, repeated sampling and a willingness to take risks.
You may weaken a dangerous storm - or accidentally create something far worse: tornadoes beyond an F5 rating are possible in this game!
Sell research data and earn rewards from successful rescues to prepare for increasingly dangerous chases.
Improve your:
Storm-chasing vehicle
Doppler radar
Research probe
Better equipment allows you to detect storms earlier, collect more valuable data and survive conditions that would have ended previous chases.
Begin with limited equipment and work your way towards the most extreme tornadoes the atmosphere can produce.
Each forecast presents a new combination of risk and opportunity. A quiet-looking day may struggle to produce a tornado, while an exceptional environment could create a violent outbreak capable of overwhelming entire communities.
Spend your earnings carefully, improve your research capabilities and decide whether the next chase is worth the danger.
Alongside the career experience, Sandbox mode allows you to configure custom storm-chasing scenarios.
Experiment with different environments, tornadoes and equipment without putting your career progression at risk, or create the most destructive storm you can survive.
You can also recreate historic tornadoes and experience them yourself in-game: the Bridge Creek/Moore 1999 tornado and the Jarrell 1997 tornadoes are included.
Forecast the storm. Deploy the probe. Warn the towns. Survive the chase.

This game is an absolute best of my 2026 Steam library, very good clouds (requires some power though), but the fact that you can make your own map makes this one of the funnest tornado chasing games, plus you choose the size and if you don't want to manually make your map, you can just generate something :D
there is a bug
the best game ever

I have seen a lot of storm chaser games and sadly the tornadoes and destruction don't always work out for me. But when I played this game I was already impressed with the quality of the tornadoes. I'm also really happy with the destruction not causing a huge lag spike. That's always been another thing that drove me nuts. But I feel like this is going to be a really fun game once it's complete!
ai garbo dlc that's unironically ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ p2w what are u doing
I am looking forward to seeing how this game turns out further down the line since it has some interesting ideas. However I can not recommend this game in the state it currently is in. The UI in this is pretty iffy and the gameplay it self is somewhat boring. While the tornado visuals are pretty cool (though could still use more work) the storms themselves are pretty lackluster. While there are some rain and hail effects, you cant visually see rain curtains which makes the storms feel empty. Plus the distant blue sky in all directions somewhat kills the vibes this game is going for. Tornado movement is a pain to deal with since from what I can tell it is entirely RNG which leads to them being pretty unrealistic and at times boring to chase. There also isn't much fleshed out on the rescue side of the game, just sirens you can activate to protect people. With all that said this game is only in early access and seemingly actively updated, so I would love sometime to come back to this and change my review.
