Tiny Aquarium: Social Fishkeeping

Such a cozy tiny aquarium game! I've been looking around for a fishkeeping game that fills the void left behind mobile aquarium games I've enjoyed when I was younger, like Tap Fish or Fish Live, and this game is perfect. The realistic, yet stylized look of the game, the serene background music, and the various ways of obtaining fish through purchasing eggs, breeding, or buying from other people's shops is just amazing and super fun! Not to mention the vast amount of species, varieties of fish, and how breeding improves a fish's attributes makes it exciting to continue forward and see all that the game has to offer. Especially with special events that come and have unique species and decoration for sale! I very much like how we're able to visit other people's aquariums and see their aquarium's fish and the way they've decorated, and some people have such lovely and stunningly decorated themed tanks that I'm excited to get all the decor I can and pretty up my tanks!

Very good fish game, easy to make progress in so you don't get burnt out like I usually find in other idle games like this. I can't always be around to play the game so I love the option to freeze the aquarium so none of my fishies get sick or hungry

I review games and DLC based on whether the overall experience is worth your time and money. Is the game good? Yes Is the game worth it at full price? Yes Is it better to wait for a sale? No, fair price If you played a bunch of Facebook games over a decade ago, I am sure you probably played a game called Happy Aquarium. Look it up, and I am sure you will remember haha. It was a small, wholesome game about having your own little virtual fish tank. Very cute. I believe people stopped playing most Facebook games over time, and eventually, it was shut down. TINY Aquarium, the game you are viewing now, is not affiliated with Happy Aquarium, but it is a beautiful revival of such a lovely idea from a very passionate developer. I am so happy this was made, and the developer has my thanks. The game is exactly what you think it is, and the trailer explains it well. You hop on, take care of your fish, grow your fish tank, catch new fish, and get involved with the community on Discord. It is really cool, very cheap, and well made. You can be on for hours if you want to because there is a lot you can do. There are no microtransactions, which means the more you play, the more progress you make. It is also super polished, with NO glitches so far after playing for over 40 hours. Everything just works. It is weird for me because I am so used to seeing glitches in games, but I just do not see that here. There are a ton of fish to get in this game, alongside more fish tanks that you unlock as you level up. If you are playing casually, you will definitely get at least 20 hours out of this over time. My feedback would mainly be to urge the developer to continue adding more fish and features, because this has a lot of potential and a lot to build on in a great way. Maybe there could be more activities beyond just fishing with the community, and maybe the amount of different fish in the game could be expanded so rare and exotic fish feel even more special than just fish you catch at higher levels. Perhaps even a mega fish tank with 60 fish would be a great magnum opus for players to truly show off their best creations. Lastly, it would be great to see a wider variety of jellyfish species, along with some squid and octopus options. I keep thinking about how much more could be added to an already great game, almost like it is some major title, but then I remember that this is just a simple $7 game. That is a really important statement because it shows how I feel about this game and how underrated I think it is. I am looking forward to what is to come with this game, and I hope more players pick it up. I could keep talking about and complimenting it, but I think my point has been made. It is also a great game to gift to friends. Simple, fun, and cheap to send to people. Definitely check it out!

It's a relaxing little game. You collect fish that have their own attributes. You can get the fish by breeding, fishing, hatching eggs or trading. The attributes determine how much they're worth, and some other things like breeding viability, or how fast they swim. Some rare attributes like albinism etc. Very basic AI for the fish. Shrimp stay at the bottom, snails crawl on glass, etc. You can throw whatever fish you want in a tank. There's progression as you collect more fish, which is tracked in a fish encyclopedia. You can decorate your tank, and have multiple tanks. You can make the game into a moveable tiny tank that stays on top of your screen and the fish will swim around. You can visit other tanks. I recommend if you're looking for a relaxing, not complex, collect-em aquarium game.
