Reviews
In short: decent game for platform, metroidvania, pixel fan. In full: - Pros: Beautiful graphics. Good music. Easy control. Pretty easy in normal mode. Good story. The change of actions affects the landscape which gives the game some interesting puzzles to solve. - Cons: Weapon and pet system are unbalanced. The story is pretty short. Boss battles can be solved quickly if you find the right weapon. The time-changed landscape is not an important part of the game. The game allows replayability but

Solid metroidvania. Overall I'd give it a critical 7.5/10, if you are really looking to pick it apart from a game design perspective for people looking for an IGN esc headliner score, its definitely like a 9/10. AND for the price?? this is an easy pickup, Highly recommend! Absolutely charming pixel art. Solid world building. When a game makes you want to see more of this delicately crafted world which the developer constructed, you know theyre doing something right. Fun level design. My only pain point of it being that it doesn't really play into the fact that it's a metroidvania too well. I rarely found myself having to snake my way around the map in order to discover new things. (having discovered the whole map btw) Overall likeable main character and side character cast. I liked all the questlines and felt i could connect with all of the protagonists. Questionable melodrama from the cartoonishly evil main villain. (It's probably not supposed to be that deep, im fine with characters written to be irredeemable, my main issue comes from the unrealistic "no you belong to me" esc character, which feels very 90's villain of the week corny. Interesting melding of past/future mechanics (a la sonic CD) and metroidvania exploration, which I honestly wish it delved into more. Very cool equipment system, allowing you to mix and match weapons/spells to fit your playstyle/adjust to certain bosses. (obviously there are some clear winners in terms of straight dps, but that will be the case in any game. it would be really cool if we got more stuff in the sequel that created terrain or were incorporated into the metroidvania progression) Interesting time stop mechanic which CAN be used to solve SOME puzzles. I wish that there were more than 2 or 3 puzzles in the game which actually required this mechanic, everything can just be circumvented via normal platforming. The very few times I had "aha" moments, stopping a projectile midair to jump on it to reach a higher location was really cool. It just kinda sucked that most of the time I was met with a staircase on that higher ledge, that revealed that I couldve just progressed a screen forward, and walked up to the upgrade. for my final gripe. The leveling system feels kinda tacked on and I feel really only takes away from the core gameplay loop of metroidvanias. I don't really enjoy absolutely melting bosses and taking 0 damage, even on hard mode, just because I've been playing the game more and enjoying exploring the game.
I'm not far into it at the moment, but the very first impression is a decent and responsive Metroidvania. Controler recomended... however I seem to have an issue where the ''tutorial'' prompt show Keyboard input. This is obviously minor as you can go look at control in the menu, try by trial and mistakes (and learn), etc. Otherwise, very responsive controls when you get the hang of it. Classic Metroidvania game with some RPG element like Dust (but so far no crafting). Get it now as it's on sale (2026 summer sale)... or wait and encourage the team for a 3rd installment. Oh, and you need to be impervious to (great) retro pixalated graphics.
i liked the game, it was more than decent gripe: EQUIPMENT leveling, my orbs (weapons) leveling up discourages me from using newly acquired, perhaps cooler orbs
