If anyone reading this tries to pin this game as just a “2048 ripoff”, then we’ve got a problem here, because Threes is a total original, and has been since it came out all the way back in 2014. I’ve played countless hours of this on my phone ever since the initial release, and after seeing it go from being an underdog amongst a wave of uninspired ripoffs, to eventually being rightly recognized as one of the best puzzle games of its generation, I’m glad to see it finally make its way onto Steam, as enjoyable and light on its feet as ever. Everything from the little whoosh of moving a piece, to the adorably anthropomorphized designs of the tiles, to the compact minimalism of the game’s interface, is perfectly calibrated to make for an exercise in absolute delight. I will say that it’s not particularly hard to hit a wall with the learning curve here (it took me a solid 6 years of consistently playing just to go from getting occasional 768s to occasional 1536s), and that some might consider the game overpriced, particularly if they’re not as into just fiddling with the perfectly tuned mechanics again and again, as they are into constantly reaching new skill levels at a frequent pace…. but considering all the years and all the time I’ve spent playing this, whether I was at home, at school, or just out and about, I thought grabbing this here was an apt way to show my appreciation for all the pure, bite-sized fun I’ve gotten from playing around with this game for so many years. Another excellent version of a downright wonderful game. 9.3/10

One of the best mobile puzzle games has finally come to the PC. It comes from the era when being a mobile phone game didn't mean chock full o' micro-transactions and spyware. I would have liked a little more bells and whistles, but considering how masterful the core concept is, it's perfectly fine as it is.
Threes is my favorite casual game and this version has all of the preview features of the mobile version. I've noticed sometimes it'll tell you you will get only a 6 next swipe, which is a slight different from the mobile version where it would have grouped a 6 with either a 3, or 12 or both. This isn't a bad change, just different. All this is to say this is a well ported version of the great game. And the achievements actually work.
Bought this to support the developer. This was the OG; Threes! came first, and 2048 and all the other clones copied from it. The personalities of the cards are always so cute, and this is a genuinely challenging puzzler even if it doesn't look like one at first glance. I can see this working very well as a Steam Deck game.
Holds a special place in my mind. I played this game on my iPad about when it released. It's quite a coincidence that I searched it up about 2 weeks after it released on steam. Super cool
O the nostalgia. I'm finally starting to understand more to playing this game.
♥♥♥♥ you 2048 for ripping off this masterpiece of a puzzle game
One of the most compelling strategy/puzzle games that I've played, approaching tetris levels of evergreen. I'm so glad this is finally on steam. Makes me feel nostalgic for a time when mobile gaming wasn't a cynical wasteland.
it's a tight port of one of the all-time great mobile games. still just as delightful as ever. for more thoughtful recommendations of the best games on Steam, check out my curator, The Absolute Finest.
