Those Who Rule

I am thrilled to recommend this game for anyone who enjoys games in the tactics/strategy RPG space. It offers a great story in a genre that often lacks them. The mechanics reward not just one and done but repeat play throughs to experiment with a robust set of interesting and engaging build and squad choices. The highest difficulty offers a rewarding experience that never felt like a slog or RNG fishing expedition. As a fan of the Fire Emblems, FF Tactics, and so on, I truly cannot recommend this game highly enough. Play it!

This game slaps!! Definitely a "fire emblem-like"!

A fantastic game with fantastic writing. Anyone whose a fan of tactics games will have a fun time playing this challenge, especially with the optional permadeath mode (that doesn't negatively affect story, but creates a fun tactical challenge for units), and anyone who loves choices matter games with deep narrative and writing will really appreciate how well the developer is able to write different perspectives, personalities, and cultures without demonizing any, but also not pulling punches about the dark and gritty realism of war and medieval ruling class differences. Anybody who appreciates a well written game with decisions that affect the story, a game with fun combat and challenging tactics, or just a game you can sink your teeth into, this is the one for you. You will surely not regret it.

Well-crafted tactical game, the story isn't bad, and the challenges match the selected difficulty level nicely. It's a bit of a shame to have so many characters, since inevitably some end up falling behind — there's no way to have the ones who don't take part in missions catch up on experience, which makes it impossible to pick the right squad each time and instead forces you to always bring the same ones forward. 67 hours played, all achievements unlocked.

Without a doubt there's room for improvement but it's very refreshing how a game so simple can be so fun, 11 hours in and I can't stop playing it. I can't wait for TWR2
