About
This War of Mine: Final Cut contains all the updates and free expansions released so far and introduces not only a new scenario but also expands all scenarios with the locations known from Stories DLCs - even if you don’t own those. In short words - that means you can now experience lots of never-seen-before playthroughs and struggle with new challenges.
Remastered versions of all the classic locations
One new classic scenario and a brand-new character
New quests and locations added to the original game
Vanilla version of the game
In This War Of Mine you do not play as an elite soldier, rather a group of civilians trying to survive in a besieged city; struggling with lack of food, medicine and constant danger from snipers and hostile scavengers. The game provides an experience of war seen from an entirely new angle.
The pace of This War of Mine is imposed by the day and night cycle. During the day snipers outside stop you from leaving your refuge, so you need to focus on maintaining your hideout: crafting, trading and taking care of your survivors. At night, take one of your civilians on a mission to scavenge through a set of unique locations for items that will help you stay alive.
Make life-and-death decisions driven by your conscience. Try to protect everybody from your shelter or sacrifice some of them for longer-term survival. During war, there are no good or bad decisions; there is only survival. The sooner you realize that, the better.

Inspired by real-life events
Control your survivors and manage your shelter
Craft weapons, alcohol, beds or stoves – anything that helps you survive
Make decisions - an often unforgiving and emotionally difficult experience
Randomized world and characters every time you start a new game
Charcoal-stylized aesthetics to complement the game's theme
The Little Ones - explores the hardships of wartime survival as seen from an entirely new perspective - that of a child.
This War of Mine: Stories DLCs:
Episode 1: The Father's Promise – a heartbreaking tale of loss and hope in a war-torn city
Episode 2: The Last Broadcast – where, as a radio operator, you are going to face moral dilemmas and decide, whether there is a price too high for the truth
Episode 3: Fading Embers – portrays a story of Anja living in a warzone and carrying a heavy burden as she has to answer to herself what is more important - survival of human legacy or the survival of a man

An absolute gem worth every penny you'd spend on it. Gameplay-wise, it's great. One of, if not the best base manager I can think of. Tough, but fair early game, where you don't rely on RNG to find the necessary goods, you're just barely surviving by design. Mid-game is lovely, since there's always something requiring you to think hard about what you'll do, as winter is coming, bandits will get bold and start raiding you more often, the fightings between rebels and soldiers will become more intense restricting your looting and so on and so forth. And since most scenarios end after 35-50 days, you'll never really relax up until the end. As for the exploration at night, it's absolutely lovely as well, with a large variety of locations and various scenarios for many of them. My only real complaint is caused purely by how good I am at the game already, clearing bandit hideouts usually has no morale penalty and these locations are filled to brim with loot, which you can then trade, trivializing the game, but that's why I tend to give myself a self-imposed challenge to not abuse that fact. Story/character-wise, Christ, this is the only game off the top of my head that has us play as civilians during the war. I love how you'll have to genuinely consider stealing or even killing other civilians for the sake of your own survival (unless, again, you know how to clear bandit hideouts), the game often puts you into such tough spots. How much charity can you afford? How much are you willing to risk? Also, the majority of the characters have some niche, they differ enough to offer unique approach to the exact same gameplay loop. So on a Bruno/Roman/Arica run, you'll need to play to play into your strengths, so steal and fight, since this is what your characters excel at and all are rather indifferent to being cruel, while on a Boris/Emilia/Marin run, you'll rely on Boris, easily depressed, but an excellent scavanger. The DLCs are mostly great as well, forsaking some gameplay elements to offer a unique experience when compared to the basegame. So, to summarise, absolutely lovely gameplay, absolutely lovely atmosphere, absolutely lovely story and characters, it's worth every penny. And mind you, I've got 178 hours and I'm not even done with all the basegame stories, this game has hundreds of hours of potential, depending on your creativity to do custom runs.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

A war game that doesn't take place on the battlefield, but rather explores the struggles of everyday people
An absolute emotional blender that forces you to make gut-wrenching survival choices while civilian life crumbles around you. Scavenging for canned food at night while dodging snipers makes every single victory feel depressingly hollow. It’s a brilliant, heavy-hitting masterpiece that I can only bring myself to play when I want to feel thoroughly devastated.
Honestly, narratively and in terms of immersion, there is a reason this game was an actual part of certain Polish school curriculums. While the game and game devs now are an adamant supporter of Ukraine, the game itself has a very sympathetic view of individuals in a conflict that emulates much more the perspective of Russian speaking denizens of the Donbass rebel controlled areas. Said areas now, annexed by Russia and are fundamental to the thesis of the entire war narrative for the Russian side. Ultimately, the game has a lot of nuance and it realistically portrays the desperation of citizens and soldiers left in dire straits of modern, urban conflicts. A game that is more relevant now than when it actually came out. Admittingly, I think after about 10 hours and several successful runs, you have seen all the game has to offer and its shock value and mechanics are as a result, far more visible. But the game does offer more story-driven narratives to really tug at the heart strings. Ultimately, a niche, somewhat performative, but very effective survival sim with competent design, great set up and a challenging, unrewarding experience that perfectly embodies the thesis of the game itself.
To me, the most striking part of this game, is how emotionally evocative it is. This game is HARD. Every choice has a risk, and every risk has a potential consequence. If you try to go in guns blazing, you WILL get gunned down. You could get every enemy but the last one, but if he happens to fire before you, you could still die. And when any character dies, the game saves over right away (you literally only have a couple of seconds to Alt+F4). You can only carry so much, so if you build the wrong thing first, choose the wrong thing to prioritize, that could very well be the end. Morale is a huge part of this game (it directly affects many aspects of survival), and doing good deeds may get you good morale, but you lose precious items and resources. On the other hand, stealing from or killing innocent people may be an easy way to get items, but you'll feel the morale hit. Every choice, every moment, feels so tense. As you're peeking through the door, or waiting in a hiding spot for the enemy to walk by, you don't know if another enemy is coming up behind you. Do you eat today, or do you go hungry to try to avoid starving tomorrow? When two people need medicine and you only have one, who do you give it to? When you've accepted help from your neighbours but can't (or don't want to) help them in return, how do you live with yourself? I've been fortunate enough to never have had to experience times of war myself, but this game has really brought me close to what I think it might be like. The magnitude of tension and empathy, relief and heartbreak, is magnificent. The game also does a fantastic job showcasing the way war affects people, victims and perpetrators of war crimes / crimes against humanity, as well as who people were before the war and who they've had to become. I do wish they didn't make the soldiers and rebels appear so intentfully evil, and all you can do is kill them or be killed by them; it would have been really nice to have the option for merciful and compassionate interactions with them (at least some of them), too. I think it's important to remember that soldiers and rebels are people too, and that even the best of us might do terrible things under the worst circumstances. I am NOT saying that their crimes should be condoned, but I do wish that the game didn't portray them all as psychopathic, narcissistic, delighting in abusing their power, and like the only right thing to do is to murder them all. I wouldn't normally complain about a video game making a bad guy out of the enemy, but in a game that's all about portraying war honestly and fairly, it doesn't seem all that fair. I wish the game's portrayal of good and evil wasn't so starkly black and white. That's really my only complaint about the game's design, though. This is one of my favourite games of all time, I buy it on every new platform and account I play with, because I always want to play and experience it again. I don't even like difficult games normally, but this one hits different, because it feels meaningful and real.
The game's atmosphere and premise are very well-crafted and immersive but the gameplay loop of scavenging and cooking food isn't really that interesting to me. It gets stale quickly and one mistake can pretty much end your run which sucks quite a bit.
