I mean, i love the first game but this, its not bad but not good either. Its buggy and the game is crashing, worse graphics and controls. This game had so much potential, but they left it in this state and forgot. Its sad.
im not very far into the game but from what ive played, i do not get the negative reviews. the story is good, the chainsaw is my favortite weapon currently and there hasnt been any bugs. ngl skydance cooked
I'm not the most familiar with Pc gaming so having to set a game up do it'll work / respond with what you're using to play the game. In my case that is a meta quest 3. This is not the only PCVR I've had to tackle to get working on the goggles. Some have failed entirely. I managed in my limited tech ability to get past the games intro HMD which took forever. So into the game I'm completely underwhelmed with the graphics and especially the Zombies. Grabbing one item grabbed another whilst I dropped another. The movement was a gentle stroll so I was engulfed in zombies PDQ. I haven't gotten too far into the game and, given I spent so much time getting it to talk to my quest controllers, being underwhelmed I'm thinking I won't be visiting this game anymore. The experience might be entirely different for other users. It just hasn't worked out for me
idk pretty good grafics
Played on Meta Quest 3 via Link cable and official Meta PC Link app. Just like the first game, has some of the best feeling slow-paced and semi-realistic zombie melee combat to this day. Which makes it an even bigger shame that the game has such huge missed potential and left with major bugs as the team has seemingly entirely moved on to their next project(s). I haven't played Chapter 1 for years so I can't quite remember if such problems existed back then, but the critical experience detriments from Chapter 2 include: 1. Straight up game crashing 100% of the time when you complete an early mission objective (inserting JB's disc into the player - workaround by ignoring it and leaving the room, or chucking it into the trigger area from a istance) 2. Being locked out of an unlockable upgrade due to certain conditions from my Chapter 1 imported save (I need a key item from my inventory that is gone upon import and not re-retrievable) 3. Bizzarely terrible (too large) grabbing detection areas for waist inventory slots. I absolutely struggle to grab so damn many things I actually intend due to it thinking I want to grab to waist slot. My hand could be WAY off and it still happens. This is especially the worst when you're trying to grab ledges to climb on and it insists on grabbing stuff off your person. 4. Abysmal human AI. They don't react to being shot at nor their friends dying in their vicinity - enemies in the room continue being nonchalant as though there isn't a firefight happening in their proximity. Otherwise, they keep trying to hit you through a wall like they have Superman's x-ray vision but bugs for brains. 5. Pain-in-the-butt side content (Trade Network missions) that is just an absolutely slog to complete and rather unexciting or meaningless rewards (ranging from trash, to weapons you don't need by that point). 6. Honestly, the stories with the side characters, along with the game's ending, feel completely short lived. Like the game was being built halfway and abandoned due to having run out of time or funds. 7. Graphics and character models are lacking detail, although from the looks of it the Quest 2 standalone version looks even more like play-doh. Some shockingly ugly textures (blood effects) look like they were drawn in MS Paint. 8. So much of the assets are reused from the first game (weapons, levels/locations) it's a wonder how the game hasn't been more polished. 9. Zombie killing is fun, but they spawn way too quickly in areas you've literally cleared out. Where did they even come from? Sometimes, this can even happen in emptied hallways or on the street behind you - seemingly materializing out of thin air. 10. Two-handed long guns that need precise aiming kinda stink, as they do in many VR games, because they struggle with letting you line up the weapon properly without it struggling with collision with your character model. 11. One nonsensical segment in the game where the objective suggests you simply have to hold out (it says to "survive") when in reality you have to push forward through an arena of endlessly spawning gun-toting enemies. Why was it designed this way? How would a player ever naturally presume they have to walk forward towards the direction of a dozen enemies wielding firearms, rather than remaining in cover and fighting from a distance? So why still a positive review? Because, despite all these issues, I still managed to enjoy the tense atmosphere and satisfying melee zombie killing action the game uniquely owns. It's cheap enough at this point ($10 base price before discounts) that fans of TWD S&S 1 can hop on and not feel too cheated.
Finally i can feel like Negan
