Spoiler Alert! The entire time i didn't feel like the choices and events i was getting involved in were fit to my role and position, the entire time it's just small scale events like fixing problems between two people or fixing family problems or going to this person or that person and talking, I felt like it should've focused on the bigger picture concerning the entire kingdom as a whole not entirely on individuals inside the castle. Like all the big events results and paths are related to few individuals that you interact with inside the castle like interacting with Xavier decides the fate with Asinea and interacting with Asteryn decides the fate with the whole poison thing and the cousin or the kids that stole and if you spare them because the other choice is literally killing them would make it that the entire game you are reminded that you spared them and based on that they no longer trust you to rule and they keep reminding you of that over and over and over from different characters like there are no other events. I feel like they should've given you problems related to like economy to improve it or the army to enhance their strength because the enemy is marching towards your doorstep instead you are stuck in this castle 90% of the time and the entire playthrough is interacting with characters non-stop fixing their problems... Also I couldn't believe that was the ending, really was unsatisfied with it not because of the choices that led to it but because it felt unfinished and stopped at a point that did not make any sense to stop at and call it an ending. It literally stopped at you waiting in your hall for the allies to arrive at your doorstep to celebrate surviving a poison crisis while your cousin's army marching towards your kingdom. I really hope the sequel make it worth buying the first game because otherwise i am very disappointed and this entire game feels like a setup for the sequel.

The Sword of Rhievenia, a 6 hour read according to my steam. And it seems to be "part 1" of a series if the ending is anything to go by, guess we will see how some of our choices play out in book 2 when that arrives. As for the Story itself, a "introduction" would be one way to describe it. You are the 4th born son of the King of Rhievenia, 3 siblings (2 sisters, 1 half brother), your mother is the kings Second wife (yes he has 2 queens). If that wasn't enough their are many other characters you meet along the way. Their are also alot of "off screen" pages which give you hints as to how the other characters interact with each other. Most of your interactions in this story will be with your siblings, not sure if my choices made an impact on them but those i chose to keep interacting with seemed to appricate it. As for your character skills, they don't seem to matter at all, i read every book i could, worked on my swordsmanship and close combat skills and nothing seemed to come up to indicate that helped. However, your Characters personality will be brought up over the course of the story, people will comment on it. The story starts ramping up toward the end, the consequences of some actions, as well as possible deaths. but as noted we will have to wait for the sequal to see how alot of your choices play out. Their is alot of unresolved consequences or open ended story lines. I do recommend it, if you like the idea of playing as a Heir to the Throne. Maybe the SWORD will choose YOU to rule, how will you treat your siblings? What kind of Heir will you be?
The Sword of Rhivenia completely hooked me from start to finish! As a newcomer to this story (I've never read the original version before the re-write), I started completely blind. The story is deeply engaging, and the characters are wonderfully fleshed out. Everyone feels like a real person with distinct personalities, believable motives, and genuine depth. What impressed me the most was the weight of the choices. The branching paths are incredibly well-done. Whether you're deciding to spare a life, snitch on someone, or keep a secret, you feel the impact of your decisions. It gives the game immense replay value. That being said, the choice system also brings my main critique. Occasionally, seemingly minor dialogue options carry massive, unexpected consequences. For instance, I suddenly found myself locked into a polyamorous relationship, even though my true intention was to commit to just one person. I spent a solid 7.4 hours on my first playthrough. Despite the occasional unpredictable outcome, it is a fantastic IF that I would recommend.
Great!!!
No one is joking when they say the ending is abrupt as hell.
What can i say? Love the Game its rly rly Good!
i really enjoyed playing this 1 i loved it a lot
La historia esta bien, no obstante algunas de las habilidades no parecen tener efecto en las decisiones, además de que varios de los personajes que tienen una barra de relación apenas interactúas con ellos. A parte de eso, el juego es muy entretenido y la historia es interesante.
I loved it so much! The plot's amazing, the characters were written beautifully and were so easy to fall in love with TwT Can't wait for the rest of the story!!!
