About
The Sinking City 2 is a third-person survival horror set in 1920s Arkham. Deliberate, tense, and resource-lean: pressure builds as you push deeper, relief comes in brief refuge, and fear is something you manage. Mind your inventory, take on unnerving puzzles, and double back via unlocked shortcuts for supplies and upgrades.
A Roaring ’20s port city buckling under a supernatural flood. Tide-stained avenues and battered Art Deco. Speakeasies gone dark. Districts feel lived-in and water-worn, with routes by foot and skiff, shortcuts behind collapsed seawalls, and secrets tucked in boarded parlors. You’ll navigate a hospital where science hides its face, a fish market where the merchandise bites back, and descend deep below the city to where eldritch horrors stir.
A ritual gone wrong trapped her soul in the Dreamlands, and now malevolent forces have stolen her body. To rescue the woman you love, you must walk a dangerous path through catastrophe to the source of the flood — her presence always felt, but rarely seen.
The Slither animate the dead. Deep Ones surge from dark water. Shadows bend space and test nerves. Some fights must be met head-on; others demand a retreat to rearm, retune your build, and return better prepared. Or take on an optional investigation and come back with an upgraded gun.
Exploration is the key to survival. Read ritual residues, sift through grisly clues, decode journals that shouldn’t exist, and pry at masks that won’t come off. Optional cases never gate progress — but they unlock safer routes, hard supplies, and upgrades that change how you endure the next encounter.
The Sinking City 2 draws on Frogwares’ detective roots to deliver survival horror that runs deep and hits hard. Shaped by studio obsession and community feedback, it’s a faithful Lovecraft experience: myths made manifest, and the inconceivable fear that results.

First of all this is a huge step up from the first game in my opinion. It leans into survival horror and does it very well. I don't think it's an exaggeration to compare this to resident evil and silent hill - just on a smaller budget. It has a unique atmosphere and the story and characters are keeping my interest. The gameplay is fun and tense in a good way. Keeps you on your toes! For survival horror fans, it's an easy recommendation.
An excellent modern survival horror with a gorgeous aesthetic, expert level design and well crafted combat. Supremely polished for a small-ish AA effort. The first game's jank is done away with here to build something much more in line with genre expectations. It does lose some of the more interesting gameplay ideas of the first game but I think the trade off is worth it as the final experience is far more playable and enjoyable than what came before. As a huge fan of the survival horror genre I appreciated Frogware's take here on classic genre tropes. There's a limited inventory with item boxes at safe havens, there is backtracking and locked doors galore. The game is sometimes punctuated by more bombastic action sequences. All of this is contextualized by an adequate story that does enough to keep the player intrigued but didn't blow my mind. I found the core duo here believable enough as partners
and I enjoyed seeing Faye be more than a damsel in distress which I was initially worried about.
Technically quite sound as well. Had some classic UE5 stutters here and there but nothing too jarring. The game is quite beautiful and I didn't encounter any immersion breaking bugs or crashes.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 4: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Honestly, they've taken the worst part of Sinking City 1 and made an entire game about it... which is boring zombie shooter horror survival. Paired with terrible inventory management, bad investigation UI and annoying loot mechanics, this is just not fun to play either. The atmosphere, music, actors and setting are great, but I can't even be bothered to care about the story if I have to slog through this zombie survival ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Wow ! Game is so good, a great Resident Evil like in the map conception and crafting. And its a damn compliment. Visual are insane with DLAA, MFG 4x is so well implemented. PLaying in hard and damn you gotta be careful. Its so so much better than the first one! Buy this game and support those devs.
Not worth $50, i could of had mortal shell 2 instead. This game wants to be resident evil so bad but it fall short in many ways. Some puzzles are fun. Gun play it boring, melee is ♥♥♥♥ even though some weapons prioritize it. Each level feels repetitive. The main character feels like "John Protagonist" trying to be Leon but without the charm. Also I spent the first hour loading shaders, should have seen the signs.
If you liked Resident Evil 2, then you're gonna like this one too. Unfortunately, I had some performance issues. It was still playable but very annoying. It got a bit better after changing from borderless window to fullscreen and dropping some settings, but it would have been nice if they added FSR to the game. I hope they drop some performance patches in the near future, but besides that, it's a nice game. The price tag is maybe a bit too high. It should be 40€ instead. It took me only around 10h to finish it.
Perfect sequel! Had it preordered for a long time and was waiting for the day the game dropped. Had high hopes when i started playing and enjoyed every second so far! Love what they changed from the visuals to the gameplay from the first one. Definitely a recommend!
This game is a master piece and makes sure you know damn well that you are just a guy fight eldritch horrors. You have to carefully preserve ammo and run a lot and come back later once you prepared. I really hope the game devs make a third game as i would pay 100 dollars for another masterpiece such as this
