Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

haven't had any issues with the game crashing like others have. i also run custom content with no problems
I'm a Sims 2 player from the beginning. It's my favourite of the franchise. I bought all the discs and then I had the free version that was released on Origin years back and it was working fine till last year. So even though the reviews on this version were not great I thought I'd roll the dice and buy it on sale, crashes be damned. I've been able to play it ok, but yes, it crashes periodically so I just make sure I save often. While I love this game and will continue to deal with it's wonkiness I simply cannot recommend it in it's current form. I'm living in hope that it will be fixed to some degree if there are enough negative reviews written up about it.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 5: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.71/day in the week to Jul 30 → 4.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

+ The Sims 2 - Electronic Arts + No Electronic Arts Launcher - The Sims™ 2 Legacy Collection it do be crashing all the time.... unplayable. same with the 1st one.... played the CD's on this same windows 7 pc. whats up with this??? more play time offline also they should add achievements
Okay, so... This game actually works... XD NOW DON'T GET ME WRONG- When the game was released, there were TONS of people who didn't recommend Sims 2 because it was buggy, broken, babies were disappearing, !!CRASH OUTS!! and worst... Save corruptions *gasp in horror*. BUT... Personally, I don't have these problems, not so far at least, so I think they fixed it(?) or I'm one of the lucky people who bought the game and don't have the problems. A major thing was said, so now: I'm not gonna be a Sherlock when I say, this game is awesome. Like this game is *THE* Sims game. This game gave me the biggest god complex out of all of the Sims games, because I play with the whole neighborhoods, the Sims are chaotic but also super... Real? Like you can see their personalities shining, the memory system is great, I love the fact that there is a chemistry system in the game, both sides of relation, and you can see that the devs cared about the stories in the neighborhoods. And I'm not saying that because of nostalgia- I didn't know how to play the Sims when I was a kid, I didn't even know that houses had.... Levels... I wasn't a good Sims player. Yes, some things are also... BAD. It's not a perfect game, and hell, this game is super OLD, so obviously, there are some things that you need to fix with mods. But most importantly, if you want to play The Sims 2 now... DOWLAND NEIGHBORHOODS AND STELTH HOODS CLEAN VERSION- it will save you a lot of nerves and might save you from corruption. Second, be careful with the firstborn syndrome, and... Yeah, go on Reddit or YouTube and learn a little bit about the game before you play it. But when you do, you'll see that it'sa truly great game made with passion. It's solid 8/10 for me. Sims 2 and Sims 3 are on the pedestal of the Sims games.
белла гот если ты читаешь это напиши мне пожалуйста я тебя хочу очень поцеловать взасос
Played it for a few hours, played well, runs well, Crashed before i can save so 3 hours of progress i lost (instently shut down), No cloud saves (Which im happy about) But if it crashes after you just made a family and built a house, be prepared to build it again or pause every hour maybe to save
Had some issues when it was first released but seems to be all good now, there might be issues with crashing on certain beefy graphics cards/Windows 11 but that might just be related to the tech itself or just the game's temperament in general, even with an updated re-release it still requires a little know-how and tinkering, but thankfully the modding community has been alive for years and has a multitude of fixes and tweaks and knowledge (If you're installing mods make a folder called "Downloads" in your Documents>EA Games>The Sims 2 Legacy folder and drop them in, never rename gameplay mods or fixes as it might bork their functionality, but feel free to rename any other mods like objects or clothing etc. to remove spaces or special symbols or replace them with _ or - to speed up load times!!!) I would strongly recommend you look into these before you play: #1. https://github.com/Secondhand-Feraligatr/The-Sims-2-Legacy-Collection-Fixer/ - This adds in the missing IKEA stuff pack, missing songs, store content, etc. all in a handy installer #2. https://github.com/LazyDuchess/TS2-Extender/releases - This comes with a bunch of fixes and is very essential tbh, as of last week it has been updated and bundled with a fix for a memory related bug that has been the bane of players for over 20 years, but has finally been fixed and greatly strengthened how much the game can handle The installer in #1 comes with an old version of this but there are instructions in the readme file included letting you know how to update #3. https://modthesims.info/d/691808/clean-fixed-maxis-neighborhoods-installer.html - This installs cleaned versions of the neighbourhoods to get rid of any corruption or bugs, to get these to show up if you've already played then you'll have to delete the neighbourhoods folder in Documents then launch the game in order to generate the cleaned versions #4. https://modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=689467 - This is a handy list full of mods with fixes to prevent corruption, fixes for things that are broken, or just quality of life things you might find useful, would highly recommend grabbing things from the Essentials category at the very least Optional #5. https://youtu.be/Y3TZV8FplcY?si=Ry4Jp4OXUjQcdkyr - This is a really well put together guide to modernise the look of the game and also fix a few issues, like changing the UI so that it fits your screen better, very highly recommend this if you don't mind spending a little while tweaking things Optional #6. https://www.reddit.com/r/sims2help/wiki/index/ - This reddit has a well written and researched wiki with download links to the Stories spin off games and other resources you might find helpful Hopefully this helps out any of you that pick this up, and if you do have questions feel free to ask me cause i've delved way too deep into how this all works 💀
The best game in the series IMO. For some reason i see hate towards Legacy Collection, for me it's a great re release, trying to get the OG sims 2 working on modern hardware can be a chore, so it's nice to have a version that you just download and play. I had zero issues with it so far, mods working like a dream. Only thing i don't agree with it's the price, but that's just EA being EA.
Bit of a joke to pay £25 for a game only for it to start crashing 12 hours in. Was running perfectly until now, shame on you EA.
