Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Every market we collect.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 8.14/day in the week to Aug 19 → 24.57/day in the week after.
Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
The year is 1998. A private jet belonging to the Roottree Corporation has crashed. On it were the Roottree Sisters and their parents. Combined, they were worth over a billion dollars.
Now, due to the eccentricities of their great-great-grandfather Elias, their money must be redistributed to the rest of the family. But who's actually a BLOOD RELATIVE? That's where you come in.
Armed only with the power of your mighty dial-up modem, you'll scour for photos, books, articles and other evidence. Then, you'll make connections and deductions based on the family relationships you uncover. With every spot on the tree you fill in correctly, the names and photos left in your possession will have fewer and fewer places to go — but the evidence will also be harder and more obscure to find.
Can you put together the final pieces of the puzzle?

Not a fan of this at all. If you want to spend the entire game attempting to put together a GIANT family tree based on minimal information spread across several areas, maybe it will be for you. But I found myself wanting to just Google it and get it over with.
Incredibly well balanced between making you feel smart and never leaving you stranded (and provides a surprisingly useful hint system if you are). There are plenty of moments something will click and it's some of the most exhilarating moments you'll get out of gaming. The game lists The Curse of the Obra Dinn as an inspiration it pales to, but I think if Obra Dinn is running then this game is sprinting.
Truly amazing armchair detective game. It's super impressive how they can even reuse information from the first case to use as more evidence for the second case.
such as Lucinda
One of the greatest deduction-based games I've ever played. Way more content than you'd expect for $20, too.
Had so much fun playing this game. I loved the all the audio, the mystery of it all, and how everything was revealed. While it may seem repetitive to some, I thought that finding the clue were so fun. Every new bit of information was captivating and kept me wanting more. Took me about 7 hours to complete it (only because I couldn't stop playing it), but definitely a game that can be very long or finished quickly. 100% recommend this game to everyone.
Deservingly praised as one of the pinnacles of investigative gameplay - the sheer size of information required to divulge is increased to the power of interpersonal connections between the characters, so a fairly long playtime is guaranteed. If you are fond of this kind of games, then you will especially appreciate a very well made in-game note taking system that other attempts at this genre should learn from (looking at you, Hand With Many Fingers). If you love OSINT, research, investigative journalism, or just wish to find a fix for that detective craving, this is absolutely a must.
I wish I could forget this game and play it all over again.
