About

Based on real diary entries, police records and first hand accounts, The Quiet Things is an autobiographical game sharing the story of Alice, as she tries to make sense of the world around her. Step behind closed doors, in this immersive, narrative driven experience.
Experience memorabilia and music of childhood in the 00s, from a uniquely British perspective. Alice found solace in music reflected in the games' soundtrack. Unlock memories tied to recognisable objects of the era.
Set in a familiar, but unremarkable region of Southern England. Visit familiar places that played witness to a series of events, that nobody could have predicted would unfold.
The Quiet Things isn’t just a game, it’s about giving survivors a voice. Alice’s story is also many people’s stories, that never get heard. Dealing with themes around childhood abuse, self harm and suicide, we aim to tackle the shame and open conversations. We are stronger together.

Beautiful. An incredible story, that so many people go through elements of in their lifetimes, but never see it told in its entirety. It helps those who have experienced anything like this, or know anyone who has experienced something like this, feel seen. You feel for Alice. You see exactly how she tried to deal with everything the only ways she knew how to. You just want to help her to be happy throughout. So if you like a story that will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions, this is it! Please support indie devs <3 Extra notes: - Gorgeous menu music - Brilliant voice acting throughout - I think I might declare war on that cigarette, as I spent a good 5 minutes every time trying to pick the bloody thing up :')
Such a beautifully created game, you could tell how much care and thought went into it. its minorly buggy. but i absolutely loved every minute of it. Such a beautful and devasting story.

This was an amazing story that made me so emotional, I had to take regular breaks. It was done so beautifully too. My only issue is the contrast/brightness was not great with no way to adjust in the settings (unless I'm blind)
Great story
The story is worth experiencing, and I really liked the atmosphere. Unfortunately, the constant search for the next trigger ruins the flow. The game has a lot of potential, but at its current price it could really use an update.
This is quite the ride... I played the demo some time ago because sadly I can relate to some things described in this narrative adventure. I streamed the entire playthrough in my Twitch Channel and, more than feeling crushed by everything that happens to Alice, we held each other's hands and felt compelled to understant her as much as we could. It was quite te experience. Sometimes it felt like a ton of bricks on our chest, sometimes like that silence understanding of someone who went through similar things even being born in a completely different place. These are stories that MUST be told and rarely are. So congrats and thanks, Alyx, for putting it out there. ---- Now talking about the navigation, there are a lot of subtitles sync problems. Also sometimes the interaction marks wouldn't work, specially in small items and I had to restart the game. Another issue I had was that I had encoding overload while using "Epic" settings and streaming through OBS, which is not supposed to happen in a simple game like this one. I ended up using "High".
Story and VA were amazing. I hope that some of the little bugs can be fixed with time. I got this game on sale and it's hard for me to defend the original price point even though I LOVED the story. There are lots of posters and items in the game that the textures and graphics aren't loaded in-additionally there are some caption glitches etc. Again, I want to emphasize the story and voice actors were really amazing and for that I recommend the game overall.
I would recommend this game. It's a beautifully crafted experience that explores some very heavy and deeply personal tops with care and compassion. While this story can be emotionally intense at times, I appreciated the way it encourages empathy, understanding, and meaningful conversations. I would suggest taking breaks if you find yourself feeling overwhelmed and giving yourself space to process the story at your own pace. Most importantly, if any part of this game resonates with something your carrying, remember that you don't have to carry it alone. There are people who care, people who listen, and support is available. Reaching out can make a difference. Overall, this is a powerful and memorable game. My personal recommendation and Specs: Age - 18+ (16-18 with adult supervision) Operating System - Windows 11 Home (64-bit) CPU (Processor) - Intel Core i7 - 12650H (12th Gen, 2.30 GHz) RAM - 16GB GPU - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti Laptop GPU
